Isn't this the 3rd kicker they've taken now this offseason? One walk on high school, one walk on transfer and now this scholarship transfer?

I think that’s right. Not sure why we needed the walk on transfer, honestly. But with Frenchy kicking off and this kid kicking FG’s things are looking up. Still need to upgrade at punter.

We need at least 3 that can kick field goals.

Frost should name the worst one of them starter in the spring; they will then immediately get injured and miss the season.

Bleekrode punted at Furman as well, so he could do both.

Coach Busch recruited him. Is Busch technically an assistant now then? Am I wrong thinking only assistants can actively recruit

And if Brown was recruiting Louisiana this week, who isn’t an assistant coach?

Maybe I’m wrong on assistants being the only one who can visit recruits. But if I’m not, this raises a lot of questions. Is Dawson out?

maybe Busch or Brown were recruiting before we name DR and Whipple coaches. Just odd

Basically Brown and Busch filled in when there were holes in the staff numbers due to the firings. Unless they're hired as full time staff they won't be able to recruit once the staff is completed. Temporary fill ins always happen when there are holes in the staff. Nothing new.

I get that. I guess I was trying to reconcile the time. Do still find it interesting they had Busch visit him and not Dawson.

Busch has been a superior recruiter over the years compared to Dawson.
And I get that. I think you’re missing the point here. Besides this kid didn’t require our top notch recruiter on him. He always wanted to be N. Grew up a Husker fan and dreamed of playing for us. So why not have the position coach recruit him? Seems to me like maybe they did

When you've struggled like we have, there's no way in hell you turn down another walk on transfer kicker. That said, the walk on high school kicker out of Kansas looks like he could be the real deal. I think this latest transfer scholarship kicker will end up being our starting punter.

I saw an article, I think it was Rivals, where he said they wanted him to primarily focus on placekicking.

Well, Culp I think would be gone. The door is open there I guess unless Contreraz nails it down this off season. I guess the good thing is if you're on the road and the starting punter gets hurt you would have this kid available to punt. I liked his punting numbers. Somebody has to be able to directional punt better than what we've had.

Can he kick in front of 90,000? Culp was awesome in empty stadiums. Bleekrode will have to prove it as well. He missed his only attempt in front of an FBS crowd this year, a 48-yarder against NC State.

We need to be able to kick between the uprights. It's the most under-appreciated part of the game and such a huge asset for getting points on the scoreboard.

We're going to have like 10 kickers/punters next season lmao. One of each has to stick right?

And we'll trot on one with a broken leg kicking out a wheelchair before trying someone new lol.

It is so hard to imagine we can't get someone to be average at punting and kicking field goals. Even someone from the rec soccer team could probably be average.
