This would make sense for both sides and has long been speculated here. I'm not a huge fan but it would be a risk to pass on him and hope for a better transfer QB who would be eligible next year. It will be interesting to see if this pans out.

Don't we already have a QB that put his personal needs ahead of the RU FB team?

I have said it before. He only can come back if he walks around the Tenn campus wearing Rutgers gear for a day and then goes to Times Square to make a Rutgers video.
I am not a huge JG, but he has more experience and measurable than our current crop of QB's. I would root for him 1 year.
That being said, Is he in the portal?
He has fought through QB controversies at Tennessee ever since he has been there. I don't know if he is projected as second string next year and t I am not sure if he is a NFL Prospect (My guess is maybe he gets a free agent opportunity with a NFL team or go to Canada.

just days before announcing between RU and Tennessee, he was at our practice bubble wearing orange shoes (exactly the same color as Tennessee)

Yes, I was twenty feet from the family , not his Dad,wearing Tenn gear at our Rutgers Shootout Day. And to top it off he made that stupid video.

It would have been bad enough if his Dad was just another guy, but it just made the whole move extra crummy.
We will find out shortly if he come to Rutgers. However it is unlikely that he is welcomed back to UT to block the development of the younger QB's for another year. He can stay and sit or leave. He will not play much at UT unless the younger QB's fail miserably.

Not interested. The kid has no discipline. Look what he pulled against Alabama at the goal line. The forget about me part of FAMILY will seem pretty empty if he becomes the focal point in schianos first year.
He turned the Tennessee season around winning the last 6 consecutive games including the Bowl Game.
