Religious dogma is inextricably tied to sexual abuse, just like it works in cults. Religions are cults. Your know where you don't see a lot of sexual abuse? In communities where freedom of sexual expression is allowed.
Furthermore, the right's misguided crusade against sexual abuse/exploitation of children, literally makes it harder for the organizations that actually combat sexual abuse/exploitation of children, to do their jobs effectively.
No one on the right defends perpetrators at all. He just needs to have a fair trial like the rest.
This demonization of trans people by the GOP is about one thing, going after gay marriage. The trans issue is the bridge that gets them back in the fight against gay people. So remember that when voting on ballot initiatives just because they "make sense" on the surface.
