This is why rivalry games should be played in the middle of the season and not the end of the year.... Oh wait.

Yep 22 should be finished in college. He didn’t care who he was hitting or stomping or stepping on. Yeah the KState guy shouldn’t have stole the ball like that but you blocked his ****. Just walk away!

Kstate'a Gordon was a total bag for pulling that **** in a blowout. Down 22 and stealing the ball with a few seconds left as desousa is dribbling out the clock? That's pathetic. What he is trying to do is lame.

Desousa ran Gordon down, blocked the shot, and stood over him. Basically giving g Gordon what he deserved. And desousa should have gotten a T for that, but no more.

But then all **** breaks out because the Kstate bench gets into it and everyone everywhere gets into it.

Watch it once or watch it 100 times- Kstate players started the fight.
And there will be a lot of ramifications for both teams as a result of the shitstorm.

Oh and then the teams had to come back out after all of this for the most pathetic of reasons- gambling. Dumb.

That's a live ball with time on the clock. **** started after the block. Bush league or not you got the better of him and that should be the end of it. The **** wouldn't have spilled over and been pretty routine had the KSU bench players not gotten into the thick of it. Inexcusable not to have a culture where your guys show restraint there. They ratcheted it up but Kansas players took it to 11 when they got into the fan area.

Bad optics.

Perry flexes after wide open dunks and has then missed his assignment on D because he is slow to get back.

Point is- flexing after most any individual accomplishment is kinda common.

Not saying i think it's good, just saying it isnt uncommon.

And Kstate initiated the fight, for what its worth. But hey- accuracy hasn't been important in conversation for a few years now.

I thought the same thing. K State guy was a complete douche bag for stealing the ball and trying to dunk it at the buzzer. He deserved the shot block and the hard foul. Yeah, the Kansas guy stood over him but that would’ve been where it ended if the other KState guy didn’t run over and start shoving. Then all hell broke loose. KState started the whole thing. Yes, Kansas players should not have responded like that, and Kansas 22 should get a long suspension, but KState instigated that whole thing needlessly.

We can debate about who started it and how it escalated, but I'm pretty sure every coach in America preaches to his team that you play until the clock hits 0:00. If the KU player didn't want to get the ball stolen, he should have either passed it or taken better control over it. Yeah, he blocked him at the end, but to stand over him like that was bush league. I think he started it and the other KSU player escalated it by starting the shoving. When the bench got involved and it got into the fan area, that's when it was out of control.

There needs to be some major suspensions. Suspensions that last for the rest of the year. If nothing else, the NCAA needs to take control and show that this will not be tolerated. Of course, they'll likely hammer KSU and wrist slap KU.

No, every coach doesnt preach that. It is totally situational as to whether teams play hard to the buzzer or not.
Fran Fraschilla was super critical of Gordon's decision to steal the ball and try and score at the end- he is about as connected as it gets with college players and coaches.
You can see examples that contradict your view in our own games. The last two MSU games for example, MSU players dribbled the clock out and the defender didnt try to steal it. Conveniently, both those games were blowouts like the game last night, so they are really good examples to counter your view.
Bruce Weber said last night that he told the players not to foul, not to press, and not to try and steal the ball.

“It’s probably my fault,” Weber said. “I had told them not to foul. I had told them to back off, but the kids are young guys. They want to play hard. They were disappointed and frustrated. You don’t want to take that fire out of their belly. You have got to handle it right. I guess it created a bad thing.”

I agree that there need to be suspensions. And I agree that it needs to happen to KU as well as Kstate. Desousa wont go unpunished- he lifted a stool up over his head- that is gonna draw a suspension for sure. And all those who threw punches on both sides need to be suspended for various amounts of time too. Everyone who came off the benches need to be suspended for some time as well.
Its gonna be rough for you to see the result though- since Kstate bench is who cleared right away and also since Kstate players started the fight. You are already setting yourself up for affirmation over your created narrative that KU will be punished less severely.

Total punks and thugs? Typical boomer words.

Now I admit it got out of hand but

1. You play to the whistle or horn which they did

2. If I see 6/7 opposing players coming towards me I’m defending myself also

It's pretty well known that blue bloods in their respective sport get hit less hard than do other teams. KU is a blue blood, do you agree? Do you also agree that KSU is not a blue blood?

Just as you gave an example, I can give several examples of blue bloods getting hit less hard than other programs. I know you will probably pull a few times where they did get hit, but we know that's cherry picking, right?

If we have to decide who is more at fault, I agree with you that it was Kansas, but how can this be said with a straight face unless you just never watch basketball?

Examples can be given where they are hit hard and examples can be given where they are hit less hard than some think they should be hit. So at best its inconsistent in some people's eyes. What I am holding out for is what the result is from the NCAA penalties from the Adidas investigation. It will be interesting to see how that further affects Kansas(since it already did, see Desousa). I genuinely think a lot of the anger in some fans comes from how they perceive what is happening due to the information they consume. It creates narratives that seem to ignore/omit important parts of stories.

he's a contrarian. he likes it that way.

Again- multiple people in this thread agreed, but you(and others) havent called them out for being contrarian or whatever else.
This board is the definitions of inconsistent and unsurprising.

The game is not over. There should be 0.8 seconds left.
If they make the tourney, well they have a DNF on their score card.
