So now that we know that DT is going to call the plays for the Orange Bowl, what do you guys think will be the game plan as far as personnel on defense? Do we stay with the 1a 1b stuff? Do you think Mullen will make that decision? Personally I hated the 1a 1b all year but could see where it could come in handy when playing a team like GT. I think I would play our starters ONLY in the secondary and mix and match with the DL and LB's because of how much they'll be challenged by the triple option. I could definitely see the 1b secondary getting burned when GT decides to throw it long.

I didn't mind it in the front 7, but the secondary was rough to watch. I have a lot of faith in Richie Brown making the right reads against GT.

Yeah it's ok with the front 7 because of how deep we are there but I'm a big fan of mix and match. I really like what bama does.. they mix and match their front 7 and keep (for the most part) same same secondary in the whole game. I know we need to develop guys but I also would like to win the game too.

i dont know about how i feel about this...its very risky imo, but it shows that mullen trusts his coaching staff.

one thing is for sure, if mullen believes in you, you will get your shot to coach on the defensive side sooner rather than later. its a freaking revolving door over there. sink or swim time for DT.

this may be the best game all year to play alot of subs in defensive backfield

Other than the patsy ooc games, of course. Tech is not going to be passing much and changing out the DBs will keep them fresh, because they may have to do a lot(relatively) of tackling. Maybe not sub all of the DBs at once, but I don't have a problem with rotating them.
