I think all anyone can do this year is go with the flow.

Watching the Notre Dame - Rutgers game last night between 11 seeds, the intensity, the clutch shots made, it occurred to me that either of those teams could have gotten on a roll and made the Elite Eight.

After all, Rutgers beat Iowa and Purdue. Notre Dame beat Kentucky, UNC and Miami. And both seemed to be playing with energy and confidence - not perfectly, but better than they have looked earlier.

That tells me there are probably 25 teams, maybe more, capable of getting on a hot streak, having some luck and a little help with match-ups, and getting at least to the Elite Eight.

This tournament is going to be tremendous fun, but anyone totally committed to a particular team running the gauntlet is more likely than not going to be disappointed.

But hey, somebody's going to win. Let it be the Cats!

Yeah I think you are right but I think some of the butterflies are seeing how we come out after a loss and if we made any positive changes, shooting better to be more precise.

I don't think you need to have any nerves at all until Saturday. 15 over 2s have happened but odds are extremely slim.
Same here. Not the least bit worried about tonight but Saturday I'm sure I'll have some anxiety.

I watched the Iona vs. Florida game and was surprised how Iona was not only in the game but led much of the game until near the end. This was on Florida's home court. So, St. Peters being second in that league perhaps is a little better than I was giving them credit for. Vegas odds for the outcome may be correct, something like us winning by 15 points not 30 or more like I imagined.

Its weird, Im 55 (Im a Man! Lol) and Im normally a bundle of nerves on NCAAT game day but not today.
I think its because of several reasons: 2 v 15, game in Indiana means tons of UK fans, UK is healthy and we have the GOAT.

I think that UK will go far in the tournament this year. The Cats have improved tremendously since last season. It would be nice to see some SEC teams in the final four especially UK and UT.

I hope all the SEC teams lose their first game 😁

Yeah, I'm not too bad today. I feel pretty good that we'll win today. I'm sure I'll have a lot more nerves on Sat. as that's when it starts to get more difficult and the margin for error for any off day really drops.

I am not nervous at all. It is just a game and 67 teams are going to go home without winning it all. If you start thinking of these games logically like that, it makes it easier to not get all bent out of shape about them. That doesn't mean we won't get upset the day if/when UK loses, but life will go on and we will all (hopefully) be back here again next season enjoying the NCAA Tournament, aka the best tournament in sports.

If UK plays well, they probably win the national title. They have won 6+ games twice this season, including during conference play.

They are capable, but there is also a lot of luck, officiating human element, and player/coach human element involved that all need to go UK's way in order to win it all. If even one of those things is off for a 4 minute mini-game stretch in a close game, they probably lose. It is what it is.

It really is true like you say to keep it all in perspective. This, to me, is the hardest title in all of sports to win. No matter how good your team is, it's still nearly impossible to win the whole darn thing. There are so many good teams every year that are worthy of winning the title and only one walks away with the trophy at the end. Just have to enjoy the ride no matter where it ends.

It's interesting to see how we are all feeling today, me personally, I'm all good. Positively confident !

I just want our Cats' to get out there and have fun again and get back to playing loose and carefree as possible. That might be the biggest thing to help them get going. Just to get out there and wax a 15 seed and get the ball rolling.

Let's get this started!
