What if they had a four-team tournament every year featuring Northern Kentucky, Western Kentucky, Eastern Kentucky, and Murray? (Murray should be called Western Ky and Western should be called Southern Ky, but I digress).

If you like the idea, should it be rotated between Rupp and KFC Yum, or between the four campuses? Also, maybe there is a slot saved on the UK or U of L schedule for the winner?

Would be a fun tournament. I would also somehow include Morehead State, maybe replace NKU with them, Morehead is still in the northern part of the state. They've got 7 NCAA Tournament appearances and have won 6 NCAA Tournament games.

Maybe alternate between Eastern and Morehead? Aren't they like 50 miles from each other?

Heck, include all five of those schools, plus UK and UoLoL. Give team that won the previous year a bye. Alternate between Rupp and the chicken bucket.

This could replace the UoLoL game and eliminate the need to play a regional university in the early season.

Play it over Christmas break and call it the UKIT.

UK has nothing to gain by this. Just play Louisville and don’t worry about the others

UK has nothing to gain by playing UoLoL. Yet UK seems to play them and one OTHER regional university every year. This would kill two birds with one stone.

Pass. UL vs UK is a traditional rivalry, yes it’s great to mock them but most want them on the schedule.

Beat Murray or WKU? Okay we were supposed to
Lose to Murray or WKU? FARRR CAL

Win against the ACC is something. Beating an instate rival every year is something.

Well, my original idea was a four team tournament without UK or U of L. UK and U of L have nothing to gain playing those schools in their gyms. But if it alternated between Rupp and KFC?

I’m shouldn’t play any of them. We should take the Notre Dame route and just be too good for it but unlike them it’s because we actually are. The majority of Louisville’s allure if they have any at all, is the rivalry and name attachment to UK. It’s one of the reasons I’m glad Rick is gone.

I think an Indiana Kentucky challenge would be better. UK, UL, Western, Murray vs IU, Purdue, Notre Dame, Butler. Add in EKU, Morehead, NKU vs Evansville, Indiana St, Ball St. or Valpo. Play the big four games at Lucas Oil on one weekend maybe even one day. Play the other three in Rupp or Yum on the day before.

I would like to see the UKIT come back. Maybe keep it sorta regional. Bring in say Butler and Belmont and Marshall one year. Butler vs. Belmont and UK vs. Marshall.
Next year bring in Xavier, EKU and Middle TN. Have UK vs. Middle and Xavier vs. EKU
Then in following years bring in one of Ohio st., WVU, Purdue, Notre Dame, Cincy ETC. paired with a couple mid- majors.
