What in the world was Snider and Pitino thinking there at the end? You have a timeout. No reason for Snider to force that 3. This team just can't do it away from Yum this season. I don't have a lot of confidence in the NCAA tourney. And Donovan better think twice about going pro. He doesn't perform as well against the best teams.

He disappears and gets into foul trouble I almost every away game against a good team. He is not ready for the NBA unless he wants to join Russ in D league. If Russ Smith who was a clutch playmaker and winner cannot get to the NBA why does Mitchell think he can .? I like the kid but he chokes in big road games and so does this entire team lately from the GT line. 15-27 is disgraceful
As great a coach as Pitino is, his record in games decided by 5 points or less is around 40% so if it is close we lose unless we have a clutch player like Smith or Hancock of recent years, Pitino had no answers once K switched toa zone

Players make BAD UNFORCED Mistakes on 25-30% of its possions...Johnson and Spalding BLEW EASY Dunks...Levitch got rebound and threw ball away when he should have taken the ball back outside...ALL the players get ticky-tack fouls by reaching in...This team will be lucky to beat the 13-14 seed first round opponant, and will NOT beat the second round 6-11 or 5-12 seed!!!

The whole team acts like they've only just started playing.No bball IQ at all.
We can complain all day...it's over! Just have to wait for Selection Sunday. 4 seed at best and that's reaching!
I am mad that once again we got got bounced from the ACC tourney. No difference between Tuesday and today. Double bye does us no good. Poor fundamentals did this team in. Nothing to look forward to for this team for the rest of the week.
Was it just me or did Pitino scold Bob Valvano in the post game show for asking if they shoot free throws in practice?
Based on the results, good question. Why would Pitino be upset?
A question that I am interested in is "are free throws part of practice where they are monitored and tracked with coaches present or is it one of those things that players are supposed to get in before or after practices on their own?"
Pitino told Valvano that any questions relating to free throw shooting are stupid and reporters should come up with more intelligent questions.

There is zero excuse for a junior point guard to miss free throws. Where's Milt when you need him. The earlier post about the lack of BB IQ hit the nail on the head. They do things that make you scratch your head or scream at the TV. I'm not sure we make it to the second weekend. I have zero confidence in these guys. And for Pitino to blowoff Valvano is complete BS. FT killed us today! And it will again. Just no excuse! 3-4 seed and not sure we deserve a 3.

I do believe this team is having a tough time in pressure situations, i.e., "choking." It shows up in erratic shooting, road losses, etc. And it makes sense when you consider we didn't play in any tourney games last year, and few of these guys have logged any quality postseason playing time in their brief college careers.
It also explains shooting free throws well in one game and not the next. It's obviously not mechanics when that happens; it's mental. And it's probably related to the situation in which the FTs are being attempted. Going into an empty gym and shooting a couple hundred FTs probably ain't the answer...

this team performed better with Q out of the lineup. I gor=t ripped for saying it, but it is the truth. Do we need him? yes, but we had a coach that compared this teams depth to the 96 cats. we have not seen what the coach said we would.
We have an advantage over any team we play with our size in the paint, but we never exploit it.
