You know, for years I’ve been seeing posters here clamoring for the chance to play Gonzaga so that we could expose those frauds. Well, we finally got that chance….

Gonna be a long year. Bunch of dumb Cal sayings. Painful offense. Not much to look forward to honestly.

The sad thing is the embarrassment is becoming commonplace.

I think Rick would return in a heartbeat and we probably wouldn't lose anyone in next year's recruiting class if he did. Whatever you may think of RP personally, no one can question his coaching ability. This game was an embarrassment and yes, we will probably get better as the year goes on, but I don't see this team winning the NC. Aside from Wallace and Oscar, where are the players with the skills and mental/physical toughness to win it all? I just don't see them on this team. Every player has one or more major deficiencies, although Livingston and Ugo are two freshmen that could possibly develop into solid players if they get enough playing time. But will they?
I agree that Rick would return in a heartbeat but Ugo is not going to help us this year as he is a project and I am surprised may fans don't see this.
You may be correct, but I think we have to have rim protection rather than give up wide open 8 footers and bunnies. At least Ugo could help rebound and protect the rim. He looks lost and is right now, but he was playing high school ball just months ago. He has the physical tools and IMO we are going nowhere without him. This team lacks the fire in their belly with the exceptions I noted and that, first and foremost, must be addressed.
Rick's time has come and gone but I agree, I would take him back in a heartbeat...I almost started a thread how I miss the 90's...His teams played with so much passion and that fed off him...
At this point I’d take the vampire. I miss my childhood when the cats would press you all over the court and teams were intimidated to play us. Cal has no fire in him.
There’s a select group of about 8 that have to be cals family. It’s the only way they would do what they do
We have a 5’8 point guard that can’t shoot. He is a decent passer but instead of playing for the team he constantly makes bone head turnovers trying to be Hollywood. Teams play off of him and clog the middle. Teams also are starting to post him up under the basket. That’s is embarrassing. We went from John Wall, Brandon Knight, SGA, plus many more to this.
I think a few of the names in that select group are the same person posting under multiple names. Way too much similarity in writing style and wording to believe it just coincidence.
I have tried to be neutral in the criticism of Coach Cal but it comes a time when one must face what is looking at them in the mirror; reality
Coach Cal is like DVD’s, boom boxes, incandescent bulbs, gas powered weedeaters, all great things in their time and day but time has passed on from all these to better things. More efficient things.
Just like the offense Coach Cal runs, it is outdated.
Watching that 1st half, I thought about when I coached and we would go against a team that was just so overwhelmed, always a play behind us just because we were so fundamentally sound just doing the basics but with precision.
That is what Gongaza looked like.
We still have time to make this a special year but if our outdated coach doesn’t upgrade, I don’t see how we can go to the top.

To me the whole athletic department needs a re-tool. Emphasis needs to be placed on the cash cow of the program because right now in both football and basketball I’m not seeing a whole lot to open my check up for…..unless it’s a buyout for this clown. Hell my wife and I watched Yellowstone last night and we checked the score on our phones. Never saw a reason to tune in. It’s beyond the point of being ridiculous.
Well, if we had a coach. We have much more talent than them. Cal just can’t coach man. At least not with this style. It’s no longer going to work.

The whole debacle is completely on Cal. He put together a team with only 2 UK caliber players and then he doesn't do anything with them. Everyone in the world, with the exception of Cal, can see that you can't win with Wheeler and Toppin.
We have one guy, Wallace, that can play man to man defense. So why keep playing man when the team just can't?

We turned off the game last night with a few minutes to go. Just sucked to watch. Man, what the hell has happened to Kentucky basketball.
What happened is we have a stubborn coach who refuses to change his style to meet today’s players/ game.

I rarely watch a game any more. Been following since 1958 and have always loved the cats. Cal has sucked the life out of me. He is clueless as a bench coach and uk is no longer feared or respected. I record each game and if my sons say we played good enough to watch, then I will. Otherwise I will watch Hanna Barbara cartoons. Only that makes me laugh harder than Cal’s coaching. And one other thing. Never thought I would say it but bring Pitino back. I don’t approve of anything he did at ul but he can coach rings around Cal and that is what we need. Jurich pulled him into that cesspool of **** that went on there. I know Mitch will never call him but he has done dumber things. Like giving Stoops a recent raise and Cal a lifetime contract. I will sign the petition for Pitino if someone gets it going.
I'll never be on board with the bring back Pitino thing; that would be a real disaster, but I am more than ready for Cal to go. It's time for the officials at UK to put on their big boy pants and send Cal packing! He's turned Kentucky into a laughing stock.
I taped the game last night as I was at Church , when I got home I could tell in the 1st 7-8 minutes of the game we would loose because anyone with common sense could see this team was not ready to play. Cal is getting paid big bucks to lead this team and right now he is a failure.
