Earlier this week, my friends (who are fans of other schools) and I were discussing who we personally consider to be our team's biggest rivals. I came up with the below list, which they all thought was bizarre for some reason. So I made an account on here because I am curious to hear who makes everyone else's list of rivals that they love to hate.

1) Indiana
2) Louisville
3) Duke
4) Kansas
5) UNC
6) Tennessee
7) Wisconsin
8) UConn
9) Florida
10) Cincinnati

LOL, troll
Oh shoot, sorry. I guess I forgot to fax you all of my photos, ticket stubs, and degrees from UK to prove my fanhood. I promise to do better next time.

I am glad though that an All-American message board poster took time out of your day to comment on my post! Would like to see your list of rivals while you're here.

I don't think we have 10 "Rivals". Take Kansas for instance. We are not in the same league, are not in close proximity and don't play them enough to be a rival. Honestly UNC and Duke are along the same lines. While they may be one of the elite teams we have to worry about come tournament time there just isn't the rivalry to their games like a U of L, Florida or UT for me.

1. Louisville
2. Duke
3. Indiana

those are the only 3 that really matter
Yeah, the SEC is weird because we've had different teams that have taken a run at us over the years...but no one has consistently challenged us for superiority. It used to be UT back in the Mears days....then LSU and Dale Brown, Arkansas with Nolan, and UF had their run in the late 2000's.

I'll play.

1. Duke (Started for me in 92)
2. North Carolina (Cheating, all time wins)
3. Virginia (Lachlan)
4. Louisville (used to be #1 w/Pitino)
5. Kansas (Cheating/All time wins)
6. Indiana (2011 game, Crean)
7. Ohio State (Clark Kellogg)
8. Connecticut (knocked us out of too many tourneys)
9. Memphis (Used to hate them when they were in the Metro with UL)
10. Tennessee

Louisville and UT should be near the top. Auburn more recently. Historically IU, but when's the last time we played?

UNC and Kansas should make the list--until recently we were playing them virtually every year.

Duke--while we hate Duke--we see them 1/3 years in the Champion's classic.

1. Louisville (37-16)
2. Indiana (32-25)
3. Florida (103-40)
4. Tennessee (156-74)
5. North Carolina (16-24)
6. Alabama (114-38)
7. Duke (12-10)
8. Kansas (23-9)
9. Arkansas (33-11)
10. UCLA (8-7)

Notre Dame (43-19) gets an honorable mention because UK played them so much in the '60 and '70s.

Anybody that think Indiana is a UK rival is old af.
Haha, I am 27. They are just my personal #1 because of the 2011 game and how they won’t let it die even though we beat them in S16 en route to the title that year, because I hate their fan base more than any other, and really because I just hate the whole damn state.

Realistically they’re lower, but man they just piss me off more than any other school in the country

Tennessee is our rival to me. Louisville wants to be but they don’t beat UK enough to be in that conversation.

I am 54.

IU hasn't been a legit rival since the 1994 season.
See, that’s the thing. I don’t hate IU. I just don’t care about them. It’s not like Duke where you hate them and it ticks you off even more because they keep winning. I forget they exist for long periods of time. I can’t really put them on my list of hated teams.

There is no reason to acknowledge Indiana anymore. They are a dead program that is irrelevant and we dont waste time playing anymore. If I were to consider them a Rival means I'm giving them Way too much credit.

I wouldn't say rivals per se but moreso who I hate the most:

1) North Carolina - the cheating, they own us historically, they're our biggest threat
2) Duke
3) Kansas - I used to like them until about 10 years ago, tired of their home cooking and inflated reputation
4) Connecticut - they killed 2 of our title runs
5) Indiana - 25 years ago they were #1 on my list
6) Tennessee - we've lost way too many games we should've won against them over the years
7) Michigan State - Connecticut light
8) UCLA - ahead of us in titles
9) Ohio State - they look down on us but I have no idea why, we're the best program ever
10) Marquette - some bad season ending losses to them every few years

Almost nobody.

UCLA doesn't have the support to stay up for more than a couple years at a time.
Kansas is fine but they need to count bread championships so lol.
Louisville would count bread championships if they had em.
Duke won't matter after K.
Indiana hasn't mattered for over 30 years.

etc.

The only one that is even in our territory is UNC, and it's stupid that they are, because they deserve to be gutted from the inside out. The all-time greatest slap in the face to this sport was when the NCAA allowed them to add a championship after letting them adjudicate their own case of fraudulence (not guilty because... we let regular students cheat too?!)

In the real world, nobody can compete as long as we keep high standards in coaching searches.

In imaginary NCAA land, UNC is close.

I just can't get worked up about toothless rivals like UL. Worst case scenario, they put up such a fight that we only beat them by 5. Ooh, scary.

1. Louisville

3. Tennessee

5. Florida
6. LSU
7. Arkansas
8. UNc
9. IU
10. Alabama
This is as close to right as I’ve seen. I don’t get IU being a rival anymore. That’s probably just us older fans living in the past. Most don’t really care or even remember the last time IU was relevant for more than a cup of coffee. True rivals are probably only UL and our conference foes that change over time as the ebb and flow. We hate Duke and UNC when we play them, but so do most fans of all teams.

I hate indiana because of their fanbase and the way they view people that live in kentucky; hillbillies running barefoot in the mountains they don’t rival kentucky anymore but if they comeback to being a power the rivalry will be reignited and IMO it’s the best rivalry in college basketball two basketball crazy states two prestigious programs with tradition and history and the hate exceeds unc and duke.
