Top 10 lists

Been thinking about all these top 10 lists from everyone and their brother. Thought I'd take a stab at a David Letterman style top 10 list about East Surry and Mt. Airy. This was done in fun so please friends from up the road don't get your nickers in a twist because this is supposed to be funny. If we can't laugh at ourselves who can we?
I'll start with East Surry and then Mt. Airy

1. Red makes anyone look good
2. For years we were perfectly content in being 8-3 with a first round exit from the playoffs. Now there's all theses expectations......
3. We'll always have the 2019 season to bring up for the next 100 years
4. We thought we were the stuff till we played Albemarle in 01 and T. A. made us look stupid
5. Y'all talk about your coach and how he needs to go, we showed you we're not afraid to do it.
6. We name our Stadium after the coach that just got showed the door
7. Our new coach wasn't too hot before but having a Boaz as a QB really helped his outlook change
8. This generation of Boaz's are way better than the last one
9. Still the only #1 seed to be knocked off by a #16 seed in the playoffs 2000 Polk County 14 East Surry 13
10. A 1-10 season is still a good season as long as we beat Mt. Airy

Tell us about the Mandarin teacher Buzz.

I'm not buzz but I'll explain why I put that there. My son, who graduated from East Surry 4 years ago had 4 friends during high school transfer to Mt Airy and if they put down the reason for transfer was academic, (mandarin Chinese which wasn't offered at any other school in the area at that time) neither school could or would deny the transfer. 3 of his 4 friends used that. 2 wrestled and one played volleyball. The other kids mom was a teacher there at the time.

I work in the school system, there's loopholes in every one.

Imagine if a school system had the budget to own other school systems by literally funding everything a student transfers for.

You want to go to Mayberry for Mandarin? We have a teacher for that.

You want to go to North Surry for the ag program? We have a farm down the road.

You want to go to Forbush for drama? We're building a theater.
