We had too many guards in 1996:
Tony Delk
Jeff Sheppard
Allen Edwards
Cameron Mills
Wayne Turner
Derek Anderson
Anthony Epps
What a squad that was!!!! The best modern day UK team IMO. 2012 second and 2015 third. JMO.

We are all just spectators speculating.
It could be worse Joe B could still be the coach(remember the old joke about Joe B getting a job at a bank and it kept getting robbed because he wouldn't let the guards shoot)
I’ve heard that joke more about Denny Crum.
Joe B Hall is a legend in our storied history. The 1978 team is one of the greatest ever. You must not be old enough to remember this.

I was so much older then I'm younger that now. I'm just about too old to remember 1978.

Well damn, I know that. You may not call it platooning, but we pressed so much, it was usually 5 out and 5 in, surely you are not gonna turn into a poster that nit picks words, are you?

No, it wasn't. The 96 team obviously did substitute a lot, and played a very deep rotation, but it did not the sort of 5 for 5 subbing like Cal did with the platooning thing in 2015.

Can I try and be a voice of reason? We have absolutely NO RIGHT to question how Calipari puts a roster together. I remember people asking how Bledsoe and Wall would co exist, how Teague and Harrow would co exist, how the Harrisons would coexist with Booker, Hawkins and Ulis, or Briscoe and Ulis and Murray, etc.... The man knows what he is doing. I find it easier to even question or wrap my head around the abundance of riches. The man can play a 4 guard lineup depending on any given situation and will figure it out! He always does. So leave it be fellas, it would just be less stressful. #incalwetrust.

Our 1978 team was not particularly deep, but the top 6 players were are good as any top 6 we have ever had here.

Let's see who all returns from testing the draft waters before we going worrying about having too much talent.

If those 4 guys return, the problem then becomes not what's going to happen when all the new and returning talent gets together here, but what happens when everyone decides to leave...

Platoon year was great...the following season that ended with a loss to IU in the second round, not so much...

Cal's prob has never been what to do with talent, but managing the NBA expectations and retention of said talent...
