Vander Zee and Diaz - all you need is a QB who can throw a goal line fade route.
Don't care what level these guys come from, production and tape don't lie is right. Get him in the Iowa S&C program with a b10 QB and OL along with RVZ, Howard and the other portal kid and wow, definitely as much potential at WR since the days of Brandon Smith & ISM. Both the portal WR's are twitchy and bring elements not seen in IC outside of RVZ for some time. Couple that with a loaded backfield and 3 deep at TE - tantalizing

And then reminded yourself of his production in 2025 with our passing game? And that was WITH the Joe Moore-winning OL that had pretty much all seniors & 5th-year guys... Don't get your hopes up, or do, but be ready for disappointment.
I'm not from Missouri, but I'm definitely a "show me" guy. The smallish WR's we've brought in recently have been underwhelming to say the least. Some of that is on them, and some on Iowa's lack of a good to great passing game I suppose.
That said, those guys aren't these new guys, so they should get the benefit of the doubt to prove themselves. Just like everyone before them.
I'm cautiously hopeful they'll provide meaningful contributions to Iowa's passing game, and run game. (even Jerry Rice had to block on occasion
).And I agree with what the other poster said in not necessarily caring WHERE a player comes from because big-time stars have come from small-time programs. It's just Iowa, man...Iowa has not shown we can put skill players / WRs in a position to be successful. Kirk is the head honcho and the head honcho has an overall conservative approach throughout the ball game, which doesn't bode well for pass-catchers deserving catches.
All seniors and 5th guys? Well, three of the five were.
Now we just need a large body we can throw it up to and we will theoretically have an unstoppable offense
I would have a hard time believing we’d find a better option than RVZ for that.
