Love 'em, but what's new about them? We've rocked these for a few seasons now. Re: your comment @Degaz-RU they are VERY 70s/80s.
I'm wondering if these throwbacks were supposed to be introduced at last year's Rutgers-Rider game, which was canceled due to Covid-19. I was bummed that last season's matchup was canned because RU was scheduled to honor members of the 1983 and 1991 NCAA Tournament teams at halftime of that game. John Battle was slated to be at the RAC. I was hoping to see him. He hasn't been back to Piscataway in eons.
Oh wait, just realized why they are "new". For the past couple of seasons we've had them, but only in red. Now we're unveiling white versions. Got it.
no these unis were only from Tom Young years (actually Littlepage too I think) . Wenzel RU years always had black in them
These are cool as well as the script Knights red jerseys that we are premiering this year.
These should just be our regular uniforms.
They should have my old high school teammate Roy Hinson as a guest!!

1977-78 thru 1987-88 they had white jerseys of this style. The similar red style throwbacks that we’ve sported the last couple of years, however, only lasted thru about 1980-81 before they switched to reds with black striping including in the ‘Rutgers’ on the front.
With Wenzel’s arrival in 1988-89 came new styles.
