St. John’s got ridiculous shots all night. They won’t be able to do that every night.

Crowd was dead tonight after first 5 minutes. This game was hard to get loud for as both teams were horrible in the first half. Maybe football beat downs killing our enthusiasm.
There was no flow especially in first half, whistle every ten seconds

Rutgers needs to put the students in the best sideline seats. The older, subdued, sullen fans who are there right now looked like they were falling asleep during the game. No energy whatsoever. Compare this to the atmosphere at Duke or Nebraska or any of many teams where the students bring so much energy to the area around the court.

That works at Duke because the students turn out regularly and pack that section

Here you would have many games with a majority of the best sideline seats Empty with no show students, and pissing off long time season holders, who are donors also, by moving them back

Horrible idea for RU

Just like for the Drexel game with 20 students and Monday night vs E. Michigan when we hit maybe 3O students. Students behind the basket are fine and where they should be at the RAC. Not at the expense of loyal fans - who pay big bucks and donate for an atrocity of a BB Program for over 25 years. Those old sullen fans didn't have much to cheer about tonight except for some instances in the first half.

You could empty out the whole area in front of the student section end court in put in low risers for standing room. Bringing the motivated student fans (the ones who would stand to be closer) closer to the court.

No problem with the crowd. Solid turnout for game 3. The crowd was dying to explode, but the way St John's was shooting, it was impossible.
-------
you can have a lot of pregame noise by the fans, but once the game starts most of the
noise is dictated by how the team is doing....if the game is close, or RU makes a charge from behind, they get loud.....

this St Johns game had the red storm hit killer after killer three point shots, to take the crowd out of it....

there may be times that a loud crowd may help RU to win..... the seton hall game, last year, maybe, it requires the team to hang close near the end

...... but the St Johns game was not going to be helped enough by the crowd.
