Really like Rutgers and Ohio State. Home courts are huge and they are 2 of the toughest 3 in conference. Toughness matters. Especially on D. Maryland and Purdue need to be ablaze from 3 to get w's. On another note, let's all remember Tom Young tonight. He was a top flight Maryland player, along with Gene Shue. And Lefty was his greatest recruiting nemesis while at Rutgers.

We lost 45-43 to Seton Hall. It took a historically bad offense day to lose. If we play with the same intensity we have all year AND MD isn’t hot from 3 then we need to be below average offensively to win. If we are putrid offensively it is anyone’s game.

Very amateur analysis…

We have each played 6 decent to excellent teams since 11/30 along with a couple of cupcakes.

Maryland:
Miami
Illinois
Wisconsin
Tennessee
UCLA
Michigan

Rutgers:
Miami
Indiana
Ohio State
SHU
Wake Forest
Purdue

In those games Maryland is 2-4 with and -43 in point differential

Rutgers is 3-3 (4-2) if the refs don’t blow OSU with a +33 in point differential.

If we don’t fall into the very real (and well discussed) trap that awaits tonight, we should be fine. That said I’m nervous as all get out about tonight.

This is a different team I think 2 things first they learned a lot from the Seton Hall loss that you have to come out to play every game and secondly they seem to be so good on defense than we should win this game pretty easily

What was to be learned from the Seton Hall game? You hold your opponent to 45 I think you came out to play. The scoring 43 was the problem and most of the problem was turnovers. It is more adjusting than learning

4 losses by a total of 16 points. Haven’t had a bad defensive showing yet. The Wisconsin commentators were glowing that Wisconsin held 5 opponents under 70. We’ve held 14 under 70.

Need a serviceable offense. Its actually been really good lately.

We have literally only played ONE bad half of defense the entire year -- the first half against Temple, which was the very first half we were playing without BOTH Caleb and Paul. It took us 20 minutes to adjust.

Probably bc Maryland fans likely still don't truly respect Rutgers. Just like Purdue and especially Indiana fans still think they would walk into the RAC and easily win after taking L after L after L after L after L after L

At least Maryland has some legit reason for optimism since they have actually won at the RAC recently

Today is really gonna depend on what Maryland teams shows up. Is it gonna be the early season team that won @ Miami by 18 and gave Tennessee and Wisconsin really good games. Or is it gonna be the team that got blown out by UCLA and Michigan.

It only depends on if they hit 3s they don’t win otherwise. They stink getting to basket.

Rutgers went to Europe and it cost Tom his top two recruits from DMV. Lefty went on a shopping spree for recruits and brought home a bundle of two. Remember the name of the guard, JoJo Hunter? I was very close to Joe and Tom in those days. I also remember when Joe's daughter, Heather, was a cheer leader at the RAC. Just cant remember the name of the forward Lefty stole.

I mean if I have to explain why Maryland would feel weird as underdog given the two programs 100 year history i don't know what to say.

Say we went to football, and Rutgers was favored over MSU, and MSU people said that, you wouldn't get it?

Rutgers is good everyone knows that, MD in rebuild, is still expected to be good lol.

Rutgers seems like the better team this year, but we've been kicked in nuts so much lately you hope MD has some pride and comes out guns a blazing, and RU is coming off a huge win and sometimes looking at MD film, RU may laugh at us and not take it seriously. 20 year old kids are unpredictable.

So let's see how it goes.

Rutgers football is a disaster. Rutgers basketball has been good for years now. Comparing the 2 is nonsense

If you’ve been in a shell (no pun intended) the last 3 years then yes I could understand why it would feel weird.

Or the dang turnovers. We turned it over 3 more times that day than Coppin turned it over against us…

The terp guy is a good guy. Historically it’s not close. Be gracious on the way up. Be a good fan. Why is it necessary to be the worst kind of fan. Enjoy what we have going. Nothing lasts forever guys. This team is special.
I actually really like Maryland and their fans. They’re the other step child in the family. Just ball busting.

He’s a big boy. Just a little payback for him being a douche during football season.
