....we will flip no commits, BUT we will still have a class that is awesome.....

But it will feel a LITTLE like having a 40 point lead in a game and then ending up winning by 10...not as tasty...

BUT STILL A GREAT DAY TO BE A HUSKER!!!!

You're letting the early signing period fool your perceptions a bit. Be as happy tomorrow as you were in December. Our future is stupid, crazy, megawatt bright.

Great shot at Houston and probably Bivens if we want him. He's kind of like Thompson though; had at least one major injury and the future is unknown if he can continue to play at a high level.

I'll be pleased if we can keep Bland and add Houston and Bivens. Already delighted with the class, but would like to retain 10 4-stars.

Bland is all I really want. Houston would be a nice addition too. Those 2 and I call it a success.

Just tough to recruit to Nebraska in the bone-*** cold weather.

Bland is still on the commit list so that's still possible anyway. He may be more important than another linebacker.

Not a matter of "keeping" Bland...matter of Bland getting himself qualified. There is a reason he has taken ZERO visits, including to Nebraska .

I thought he was also looking at Texas. Or was it a different Texas school?

The class is great! My only gripe, is a few boxes were left unchecked, which would've made it a perfect class. IMO the 4 biggest items were:

1. Increase size & strength of hogmollies --- Check (Impressive O-Line list on paper)
2. Land some potential 'game-changers' --- Check (W Robinson, T Robinson, NPG)
3. Speed in defensive front 7 --- Unchecked
4. Large/Physical wideout --- Unchecked

Finding ways to creatively use guys like Domann and Tannor can cover #3, and landing a guy like Cager from the U can cover #4.

Do not need or want Cager. Questionable hands at best. We have other guys with similar measureables who already know the offense and can catch the ball.

FSU and Texas offered and then backed away without bringing him in on a visit

For awhile I thought maybe a UAB or Marshall or the like but not even they brought him in to visit

Ah, I see. I haven't checked him out at all, just been seeing the buzz. My question is, who's the guy you can send downfield and throw the ball in his general area, and know there's a chance he'll come down with it? More recently, the guys like Stanley Morgan, Brandon Reilly, Quincy Enunwa and Kenny Bell handled that role. Who will it be for 2019?

Which means you want Houston.

He's a "potential" outside receiver.

Don't have to be huge, just need to burn and route-run well.

That sounds bad. Academic casualty. Real shame, because he's a helluva looking football player.

Doesn’t matter bro if you want him or not. Frost DOES and he is going after him. I read on hail varsity or a write up from a site like that and it said Frost is after him and Cager loves the Huskers, Frost and his offense and really like Adrian Martinez as a QB. Sounds actually VERY promising we might actually get him. Said he will be deciding in a month or two. So I’d get ready for it my man ;)

True. And I guess you don't need a 'jump ball' guy if you've got a security blanket like Westerkamp or Edelman.

We've got 3 walk on WRs 6'3" or taller who can really run. One of those guys will step up. It seems like somebody always does. On top of that we have a couple of TEs with good speed that can fill the role of a taller WR. Frost will have no shortage of weapons this fall. I greatly prefer a guy who has been in this system already for a year over bringing in a one and done grad transfer WR who doesn't have a clue about the offense. JMHO.

Hey I get but that’s why Frost makes millions and we don’t. The guy (Cager) is obviously pretty solid and Frost see something he likes. There nothing to take personal about it. Why wouldn’t he go after a true big body WR with D1 experience and S&C if he can?? I like it and I think it will help our speed demons we have out there to add a big guy like Cager. Most of the freshman have to catch up with S&C, learn plays and then the speed of D1 football. With Cager, his only deal is learning our plays or a good chunk of them at least. I’m sure Martinez and the other wideouts can help him in games if they had to. We will see how it goes but I agree with Frost here, if you can guy the young man, go for it.
