Look **** on the coaching but that kid came out and played with injuries. ****** to dog a former player because you hate a coaching staff! Much respect for Stevens. Not as much for the job the coaching was for him

My wtf was the Saints drafted him. He's another Taysom Hill. Makes me wonder what the plan for him is. I wish him all the luck making the team and contributing.

Tommy has NFL talent. Durability was his issue in college. Hope to see him avoid injuries and have a good career.

I wish him well but he is no Taysom Hill. That guy is tough. I'm baffled by this pick personally. Maybe he can stay healthy somehow. He has a decent arm.

If he has any chance at all of staying healthy, he better learn how to read where the pressure is coming from.

He will be running routes, not reacting to pocket pressure.

Utility player with a strong arm.

This. Tommy Stevens is a baller. Kid has a lot of talent. Very fragile. Was a product of a great staff at Penn State and followed the one **** stain from there to Starkville. He’ll do just fine.

The thing that is funny we have State fans bragging about 5 players drafted then shitting on 1!! Amazing and so sad. You so called fans don’t preach 1 narrative while shitting on another. It’s embarrassing and so sad. But yet you claim to be fans

Same folks celebrate Nicky Fitz. Where’s he at now?

My point is don’t claim to be a fan, celebrate his total of drafted players but yet **** on him for talent that they have never came close to having. Some posters are embarrassing but claim to be fans

Still sitting atop the all time rushing yards list for a QB in the SEC.

Systematically. I’m a big fan of Nick. He was in the offense that allowed him to break records. Don’t fault Tommy Stevens because of the coaching staff that wasted his talent is all I’m saying. Kid is good.

Edit to add: he IS fragile. Dude is paper thin. But don’t celebrate all the other guys getting drafted and not the one guy that took a chance with us. That’s just ******.

Can someone interpret this? This poster seems to be saying that if you don’t agree with him/her, you aren’t a fan. But I can’t be sure.

I’ll interpret. We have fans bragging we have 5 draft picks but then shitting on a player that represented us. I don’t give a **** if you agree with me but shitting on players that represented us is sad. You can be a fan and have a sad take. I’ve had some in the past and will in the future. But 1 thing I know is that I am just a fan. Nowhere near as talented as these players. So I don’t think it’s right to **** on them when they represent me at a school I love. You do you , I’ll do me. Sorry I infringed on your rights. Just my thoughts. Hell my wife doesn’t agree most of the time with me so it’s all good with you.
I’ll drink another Natty and be good with it

Its hard to say the Saints don’t need a QB though. You are right about Hill, he is tough, very versatile and great locker room guy who has worked hard and embraced his role. But at the end of the day, he’s a slightly less athletic version of Nick Fitzgerald (look at Nick’s college stats as a Sophomore in 2016 compared to Hill who was a senior that year if you don’t believe me). Hill will absolutely never last as a starter in the NFL at the QB position, if he ever even gets there in the first place.

Kid is going to have to develop a pocket awareness and internal clock. Had good accuracy and good arm. Not as tough as Nick was. Better passer by a long shot. Doesn't do you any good though if you can't feel pressure or get the ball out quick enough. Hopefully the Saints can teach him that. Don't get the Hill comparison. Don't think he can hold up doing that. Better learn to be a passer and get that pressure figure out. Hope the best for him.

Think about it, Mississippi State has had two quarterbacks drafted in the last 5 years. Hell, we've had two quarterbacks drafted since 1967. No matter how you slice it, this is excellent news for Tommy and for Mississippi State.
