Man is a genius.... won his 9th state title tonight with Dutch Fork.
I gotta imagine colleges have come a knocking at some point over the last 20 years. Does he just prefer high school?Man is a genius.... won his 9th state title tonight with Dutch Fork.
I'm in the wrong profession.Everyone was shocked when Tommy left Independence until they understood the financial ramifications. Below is from January 2010 article announcing move:
If approved, Knotts' salary will be $104,452. His deal also includes incentives for playoff performances. He will finish the school year in Charlotte before retiring from the North Carolina school system with a $3,000-a-month pension.
My guess is that Knotts is knocking down $200K+ annually. Pretty good for a HS football coach.
Pretty good for a high school that can pay that kind of salary. That salary is probably on a Texas high school level.
That is the salary in that district. Anyone of those schools: Lexington, Blythewood etc and you have the AD title, you will make between 95-105,000. Dave Bennett was making that and he only had a JV team the first 2 years the new school open. Mark Barnes is close to that at Summersville. So those make in the 90,000 range do have AD attached to their salary. The 200K that was reference above is just an estimate of playoff money and NC pension added in. I doubt it adds to 200,00 but definitely over 150.That salary is roughly what the big SC schools pay. Not everybody gets that of course. When you include the extra help from booster pay and perks that come along with being "the guy" in big football towns down there, plus their regular teaching salary and football pay. Every year The State publishes (most) of what they make as public record.
