I doubt he's interested but if he was willing to listen I would agree to pay some of his salary. (Lol)

Would Hobbs hire an ex SHU Coach albeit Hobbs had nothing to do with his hire?

Doubt it.

Likely choice has to be Danny Hurley

Can GRFig get in on the interview process?

That way when we hire the new guy, at least we will know he is qualified!

Is it true that Tommy has a wife that teaches at Harvard? Might be hard then to get them to go?

There are law schools in NJ. Amaker and Hobbs are friends the say. Maybe TA will be thrilled with the task of taking on this challenge. He may also say no way ( if he's sane).

I think Hobbs will relish rebuilding basketball from the ground up. I expect him to lay out a vision soon. I will be surprised if he keeps Jordan past this year. I guess we will see.

He needs to find an extra million or two so he can buy out Eddie. He seems the kind of guy to make that happen.

Amaker would be a phenomenal hire. He's a very good coach and probably an even better man. Obviously his ability to recruit with the big boys is totally up in the air, but he would at least have Rutgers playing hard, decent basketball.

Maybe we could make the faculty pay using academic money to inflate his wife's salary!

I read years ago that Amakers wife is a PHD in neurophysiology. Her getting a job was part of the deal when he was hired at Harvard.

Dan Hurley isn't exactly setting the world on fire at Rhode Island. I would hope we could do better

I hope Eddie can right the ship but if he ever is let go I really do not want Danny. I don't think he has done anything special at RI and he is a bit of a loose cannon on the sidelines. I would prefer the GW coach who has averaged over 20 wins a year for 22 years. He is 49 years old and has moved up the ladder. He won a D-3 National Championship at Catholic University and did a great job at Vermont as well as at GW. He has 6 All Stars from the WASH DC area plus 6 international players. He obviously knows how to recruit from different areas. He took over GW and made them so much better within a few years.

It looks like Lonergan now makes between $1.5- $1.8 million a year. He has a contract until 2021 I believe. I don't think we could get him as he is from Wash DC and seems to be thrilled to be back where he was raised. He played ball at Catholic Univ. and when he coached there his wife was coach of the women's team. He did learn a lot from Gary Williams as an asst. to him one year at Maryland. He did leave the area for 6 years at Vermont so who really knows if he would consider RU or not. Amaker at Harvard apparently only made $775,000 in 2014. I still hope Eddie can make this work and get us improved but if not Hobbs should be planning for down the road.

How about Mullin and St. John's winning at home vs Syracuse... Great win for a team less talented than than orange, obviously good coaching.

Yes we have The Wisconsin win but that was more of a determined Mack and Jack effort

Would be nice to win more than one game that we weren't supposed to win in Eddies 3 years..

Eddie isn't going to right the ship. The ship already sailed. He might win 2 more games this year for a total of 5. And no way he gets to last years 10 wins.

It's a complete dumpster fire.

I think EJ is not working out as we had hoped. But let's not refuse to give him at least some credit for whatever good stuff has happened in 2+ years. To say he had nothing to do with the Wisconsin win is rediculous. To say it was ALL Mack and Jack denigrate whatever their team-mates and coaches contributed -- both before and during the game.

Many of This board's board see things in black or white. Your Jesus or the Devil. A player or coach is great or crap. No in-between.
