Sources close to it tell us Shea Patterson will be ruled immediately eligible by the NCAA, and it could be announced as soon as tomorrow.

Did the Bears or NCAA ever release the result of their appeal on the bowl ban? Supposedly they got word last Friday and further supposedly the NCAA was supposed to release 1 day later, which would have been Monday.

First I hope we never have to go against Mars. We better have him on retainer to avoid such issues.

Also, UM may want to think about hiring Mars. Their UM educated lawers look to suck.

Based on what he's said about OM, I doubt they'd consider hiring him and I doubt he'd take the job if asked. But lawyers sometimes speak out of both sides of their collective mouths so you never know. His dislike seems genuine though.

They didn't get the results of the appeal yet. They have received the response brief from the COI. UMiss still has to file a reply brief (which I think was due this week) and then wait on the result of the appeal.

OK, thanks. I thought they'd gotten the actual results. The wheels move slowly, huh?

If they really do decide to make him eligible, I wonder if more Ole Miss players will decide to transfer in addition to the ones that have already.

I assume most thought the appeal would be denied, so that may have been why some stayed and decided not to transfer.

I am also wondering if the wins they must vacate is tied up in the appeal. It seems like that they would have had plenty of time since December to determine which wins they must vacate. My hope is that the Alabama wins and the egg bowl wins will be among those wins vacated.

I don't think they got any good news from the NCAA, they would not have been

able to contain themselves if they had.
