Tom Homan: Dead man walking?

It seems that Homan accepted $50,000 in cash in exchange for promises of help in securing government contracts from the incoming Trump administration. The FBI apparently has both video of him accepting the bag of cash and audio of him making these alleged promises. But Trump appointed him as "Border Czar" anyway. Apparently, the position to which he was appointed did not require Senate confirmation, which would obviously have been quite messy.

I have the same question as many others. If Homan did nothing criminal and the investigation of his supposed acceptance of a bribe was properly terminated, why not release the video and audio tapes, and let Americans judge for themselves? If he's innocent, he is owed an apology. If he is guilty, he has no business serving in any governmental capacity.

I get that, Ned. But they state in that report that there is video of him receiving the bag of cash. In fact, the reporter (Ken Dilanian) specifically noted that it was a "Cava bag," which suggests to me that Dilanian saw the video before reporting on it. The video will speak for itself, no?

Then there should be no objection to releasing the video. Let’s clear this up quickly and move on to more important things since this is just a left wing hoax.

And while we are at it, release the Epstein files so we can clear Trump of that as well since he would never do anything unethical.

i'm all for releasing the video. They'd have to be extremely stupid to leave a video out there and drop the case

Hitler has thirty-four felonies. Everybody in his cabinet are criminals and yet this idiot is always talking about immigrants are murderers and mentally ill people. He has Kennedy running the head of medical services and he looks like a pure drug addict. This is the worst administration in the history of American politics.

Of course he is because he works for the most grossly corrupt administration in history. Trumpapotamus will wave a magic wand and make all the crimes of his supporters go away. It's like magic.

Called safe by whom? Donald Trump? Pam Bondi? Unfortunately, that is not gonna protect poor, corrupt Hoeman. He has never been indicted and no criminal prosecution has ever commenced against him, so he has zero double jeopardy protection. He could be indicted at any moment. Do you think Cheeto Hitler will hesitate for even a nanosecond in tossing Hoeman under the bus if it serves Cheeto's own personal interests? I believe Hoeman will end up being prosecuted for bribery and do some time in the stony lonesome.

And that collie of a Press Secretary will look even more vacuous than she already looks. At least she has a large rack and a rich, albeit ancient, husband.

I'd be OK with Homan getting the axe. He does a good enough job, but I'd rather a better messenger take his role. His mumbling delivery just rubs people the wrong way I think.

That said, something tells me they aren't releasing whatever tapes may exist. Dems in the same position would not release them either.

Why didn't they release them when Biden was still in office?

Have to admit I was pretty shocked when I saw those bikini pics of her. No wonder the old man waived the prenup for his child bride. She's damn thicc.

Why not show the video? He took a bag with $50K in it and kept the $$$. Right, he still has not accounted for or returned the $$$ he took.

Why are you completely ignore the allegations? This isn’t an anonymous person alleging a $50K payment - the FBI has it ON TAPE (using your preferred caps lock). Why would you not demand a bipartisan investigation?

At some point you have to admit that you are fine with lies and corruption from those that advance the agenda you align with. It’s perfectly legal to have that view - but it’s disgusting to those of us who care more about America vs. red/blue or right/left.

Yep mighty strange that alleged video under Biden DoJ which weaponized everything against the right did not body slam Homan with something that could take him down as he criticized the Biden administration constantly.

Same with Epstein files. Those files have been dragged around for like 20 years. There is nothing no longer to see as if prosecution was to have occurred totally it should have happened 15 years ago. I still contend Epstein
Are grown men harboring some repressed feelings? They’re mad because Karoline Leavitt is…. Hot?

Looked her photos up

She could be a body model

Yes she is smoking hot

The Biden spokesperson was not into men and on a good day was maybe a 4

Plus KJP was really in outer space on her press conferences

Trump knows how to pick them

Allegations Dude you were all in on the many hoaxes Democrats have been running on the Right

This alleged thing which may be a legitimate cash deal happened under Merrick Garland who clearly knew about it and did nothing about it

Ditch at Biden and Garland as they made the decision not to push a case so that tells me it is a nothing burger

Take a day off on declaring everything a crisis

Dude, you need to read outside of FoxNews and you'd know that Homan was a private citizen at the time, who was investigated by the still independent FBI, based on tips while investigating other matters. For the bribery charge to stick, he would have to make good on the bribe AFTER taking office, hence why the still independent FBI did not act on it during Biden's term. But as usual, the corrupt Trump administration shut it down before waiting to see if he tried to deliver on those promises. I doubt he paid taxes on it either.

It’s very challenging to engage in a debate with someone who can’t focus on the topic at hand and instead IMMEDIATELY DEFAULTS TO “HOAX” “BIDEN” (all caps so I can connect with your preference).

Let’s take this point by point.
- I will ignore your comment about Democratic hoaxes, as deflection does not advance a debate.
- “Did nothing about it” - the FBI was (during Biden’s tenure) and has been actively investigating BUT TRUMP SHUT IT DOWN in spite of the alleged overwhelming evidence (ie, a tape)
- I never declared this situation a crisis. But again - why do you not want to understand if a very powerful figure in charge of immigration enforcement is corrupt? Why are you comfortable dismissing it altogether? Do you not want to see the video and make a determination yourself?

I’m sure you’re familiar with the concept of false equivalence? I mean at some point you MAGA folks should hold yourself to a higher standard than a logic class taught in technical school.

Let’s actually debate - can anyone from the MAGA crowd engage point-for-point? SAD (in the all caps words of Trump).

not a MAGA type, and not trying to equate anything. If there is someone in this country who does not believe there is, and has been, corruption is living in lala land.
it's total hypocrisy to blast one side and not the other. No need to engage point by point.

politics is a dirty business. Power corrupts be in democrat or republican. Trying to debate otherwise is an exercise in futility

@Clemblack appreciate your incredibly insightful post. I’ve voted for both republicans and democrats.

I don’t believe we should accept corruption - do you? I was very happy to see Bob Menendez be forced out of Congress.

So again - you do not care that Homan was caught on video accepting $50K in cash? Or are you saying because there have been corrupt democrats then it’s okay for republicans to be corrupt? Make it make sense!

Serious question, is it possible that anyone on this cabinet has done anything wrong and is deserving of some sort of punishment? And if so, can you see how it is frustrating that any news you don't like, you can just say "fake news" and wave it away? Neither of us has any clue about this situation. None. So neither of us has any clue whether it is fake or not, right?

make politics make sense....not sure I can.

but here's a response, best I can. no I do not condone corruption from either party. I posted earlier that if Homan accepted a bribe, he should be in jail. Only saying that corruption in government is not a republican thing or Democrat thing, it's personal. You brought up menendez..wasn't he a democrat? How about Santos, he was a republican!

But on Homan, I have not seen any video. But, like I said, if he accepted a bribe, he should be prosecuted. But I haven't seen any charges filed. And, I feel the same way about every instance of proposed corruption. The person accused is innocent until proven guilty. I feel that way about Homan and I feel the same about comey
IF what is alleged is true, was there anything that brazen in the last administration that was overlooked?
I guess it's all about perspective...Clemson co14 brought up Menendez,, but how about the Burisma thing. Biden basically demanded that a prosecutor be fired or funding would not go to a company in which his son was receiving money. That's not as direct as Homan thing, but to be honest, I have seen nothing anywhere but this board on Homan accepting a bribe. I read a lot of right and left leaning journals and other than MSNBC which has been sourced on here, haven't seen it. Maybe I'm watching at wrong times or bypassing print stories, but I would have thought that it would be all over the news

Right, but Menendez thing doesn't fit at all. He was charged and is in prison. This is an accusation that at least appears to have been swept under the rug.

Burisma again doesn't fit, as calling for that prosecutor to be fired was bipartisan at the time, as he was known to be corrupt. (https://oversightdemocrats.house.go...g-of-ukraine-prosecutor-general-viktor-shokin)

I will say that I agree that there are corrupt Dems. You won't find me arguing just about any vice is partisan. But that is what I routinely see on this site from people on the right.
