There are so many players on twitter in their feeling about what is said about this team. Would they rather fans just sit back and not say anything? To me it shows we care more that we aren't ok with this debacle.
What do players want us to say after this season?
And Kylin Hill, does anyone know whats going on in his head?

Honestly they are just following in the steps of their coach. Like Hadad said Moorhead is a talker and not a doer.

All these players talking bout unfinished business coming back stronger. It’s just talk. Hill is damn near bipolar. All these players crave the attention of the recruiting cycle when everyone is on their jock and then when a little adversity hits they don’t know how to handle it, cause this upcoming generation doesn’t know how to handle adversity or when things don’t go their way.

Twitter is a 17ing cesspool. It’s a huge contributor to the dumbing down of America. Every moron having a platform. What could go wrong!?

True. I don’t have an account, nor read that crap. Mainly, because I don’t give a shi- about someone’s opinion or feelings

I’ve said it a hundred times, but it is completely nuts to me for a coach to allow social media during a season. There’s simply no good that will come from it, and that’s not a shot at Joe. That’s a shot at all coaches that don’t reign that crap in

I get tired of everything having an excuse tied to it for Moorhead. Like the press conference last night when he said 6-7 was disappointing but "everything has context". Shut up, you're a head coach now you don't get to blame things on context you are supposed to make the best of what you get and honestly he's done less with more than a lot of other coaches had coming in. see: Mullen

i really dont care for what the players have to say. their attitudes are a serious part of this rotten culture. former players are a different story.

Twitter is not the devil most of you make it out to be, I have used it daily for about 5 years and have no issues. There are no idiots on Twitter any worse than the ones on this or any other message board. If you don't have the backbone to control yourself and not get into a Twitter war of words with one of those idiots then that's on YOU, not Twitter, YOU are the problem. Nobody forces you to follow those accounts.

Here though is what I don't do:
-I follow NO athletes, they don't speak or type in English
-I follow NO coaches, nobody wants to hear "coach speak" i.e. we been working hard, hitting hard yada yada yada
-I follow NO politicians, liberal or conservative
-I follow NO news networks or their hosts/anchors
-I follow NO "stars" i.e. movie, musician, etc.

I DO follow:
-A couple MSU writers, a good many BBQ accounts (there is life after Dale's), some cast iron cookware buying/selling/seasoning accounts, a few weather accounts, some cord cutting accounts, several MSU accounts that let me know what's happening on campus, some technology accounts, some college baseball accounts etc.

I NEVER come away after looking at Twitter pissed at the world because I'm not stupid enough to follow those accounts that would piss me off. If I do stumble onto one I don't agree with, they are Unfollowed right away. So don't blame it on Twitter, blame it on your dumb *** for not knowing how it works. And no, I don't work for Twitter...…….

I understand their feelings of wanting or needing to defend themselves in a sense with how many idiot fans we have tweeting at them and attacking them but also their immaturity doesn’t know how to quite handle some of these issues and that’s where usually a leader would step in... like a coach or something to put an end to the retaliation tweets.

i love our players and I think they’re super talented but just had a lot stacked against them... I think Kylin had a close friend or family member die before the Tennessee game or something I remember happening so I don’t know what all these players go through and really none of us do but one thing I will say is... Kylin has a little Lamar Peters in him. Several of our players do... so easily blown around emotionally. So many ups and downs and swings with how they’re feeling and their performance reflects their emotional state it seems like. But then again so is most of the world now and maybe that’s a new norm with the upcoming generation of athletes... I don’t know I just would like to see some unflappable mentality from our players that will just come at you and smash some people in the mouth every play no matter what’s going on in their head.

He's right: it's what you make of it. I have a "professional" twitter account that's accessible to all. Lots of teacher-y nerdy science and rah-rah official college stuff there.

Then there's my locked down ***** about sports "personal" account that only a few friends know about. The streams do. not. cross.

One thing that EVERY college athletic department needs to have is some sort of social media workshop/training before the season starts. Let them know they are the faces of the University and NOTHING ever goes away online and all that jazz.

The more salient point is that

it serves as a distraction for student athletes who are under the microscope and it perpetuates negativity that doesn't do anything but create dissension. Young people aren't going to use Twitter like you do or like I do. And the only thing that will change that is to restrict it or ban it in our football program.

There are absolutely people way worse on Twitter than on this message board. They go after people personally, their jobs and well being. There is the twitter mob that tries to evoke social change whether warranted or not. Bully companies over ridiculous ****. I’ve never seen this board do any of the sort.

I’m glad Twitter works for you. I personally have a low opinion of it. But just like what you wrote, that’s is just my personal opinion. It changes nothing in the grand scheme.

I’ve never been a member, so admittedly I have only seen the bad side. I have zero interest in the other side you describe. I don’t feel like I’m missing much.

At least it's about what's happening now instead of facebook for old folks who want to remenisce (sp) about what they missed in their past lives...waste of time

Facebook sucks too. Lol agreed.

I’m not downing the people who get good use of it. Just that it allows every mouth breathing moron a platform to voice their brilliant life takes.

ONLY if you give them that platform. If you choose to follow "mouth breathing morons" and read their ****, that's all on you brother. Otherwise, you'll NEVER even see what anybody says unless you "follow" them. You can even make your account where nobody can follow you and you can just read other open accounts with interests like yours. It's all on YOU how you use it and what you see.

We have a Freddie Kitchens type leading our program.A guy who came into a job wanting to be the players bff and viewed as a nice guy but when it came to Kitchens putting the hammer down no player respected him and laughed it off.

Last season, espn did an 8 part series on duke basketball. They showed a segment where each player sites down with 2 or 3 duke employees who manage social networking and the player's brand was discussed. They talked about how to manage the narrative that is available thru social media and how that translates to success of the player's(and Duke's brand).

Perhaps MSU does that, but I wouldnt be surprised to hear we dont, even 13 years into twitter being around.
