So you are saying many trumpers and some non trumpers are in favor including many experts?

Sounds like the minority needs to shut the 17 up.

People are people. Everyone other than those who are so comfortable that they're out of touch or profiting off of the virus want this to get better.

Sorry you feel that way, but you are sorely mistaken if you think that I or anyone else on the Left is hoping hydroxychloroquine or any of the other potential treatments doesn't work. You should probably stop believing whatever sources are telling you that nonsense.

I mean, even Drebin acknowledged just a few posts up that Cuomo is pulling for it.

I am very sorry that the left has made me feel this way. Rigorous studies...that study even to sidewalk scientists was totally BS (Not even worth discussing). Rigorous studies...double BS. Yet you soaked it up...eagerly.

There are reasons not to give it. I have had more people on it than not and it hasn’t had any noticeable benefit. That is anecdotal as the numbers there are far too small.
I really don’t care about the politics of it, I don’t think it helps, it’s coming off of treatment protocols (and while some medical institutions can be political, individual doctors are very unlikely to let politics dictate how to treat their patients the best they can). If I was sick with covid I would look at several things before deciding. All of this to say, in my opinion it’s not as simple as “take it, it could only help”

You people are unhinged morons Bc you hate trump so much.

The right wants it to work. Do you think that’s more abt Trump or you know HOPE?

The left wants it not to work. Do you think that’s more abt trump or you know ANYTHING ELSE?

This is what happens when Fox News and talk radio brainwash half the country into thinking liberals are unhinged evil people.

If you had actually met and befriended liberals, you would know your caricature of them is very, very far from the truth. We all know someone, or at least know of someone, who is affected by COVID-19, and if hydroxycholoroquine or anything else can save them, we desperately hope that it can.

And this is what happens when liberal outlets brainwash the other half of the country into thinking an opposing view can only be hypnotically introduced into people.

See, that works both ways.

Try harder. I'm not saying that anyone who has an "opposing view" has been brainwashed, or only that people on the Right are hypothetically susceptible to it.

In the specific case of believing "the Left" is hoping HCL doesn't work, anyone who believes that has been brainwashed by right wing fake news. We do not hope it fails. Period. We have been vocal in hoping that it works. We still hope that scientists can find some specific situations where it demonstrably works. Any source saying otherwise is outright lying.

The only way that someone could possibly believe "the Left" feels that way is if you don't have any personal exposure to liberals and rely 100% on fake caricatures from Fox News or worse.

Ok. How about this? Please point specifically to any FNC or conservative outlet that promotes this. Maybe, just maybe, people are concluding this on their own from the actions of liberal continuing to be Debbie Downer to it at every opportunity.

But only Trump supporters are willfully ignoring rigorous studies to listen to cherry-picked anecdotes in order to make Trump "right" about it.

Do you have links to these RIGOROUS studIES that you speak?

Also, do you see the irony of your posts being very “pot calling the kettle black”?

Then stop acting like it.

I’ve seen some ridiculous stuff posted about Trump only promoting this drug because he either owns it (ridiculous) or has stock in it (as do a ton of other people in their retirement funds). The left’s attacks of everything Trump isn’t doing anything but making otherwise middle-of-the-road people towards Trump. Trust me.

"What do you have to lose? Take it. I really think they should take it."

"It can help them, but it's not going to hurt them."

Dishonest media narrative = Trumps words

I'm just grateful this is the only time I've seen an example of this. **

You serious? It's literally in the first post of this thread. If you want more, Google something like liberals hope hydroxychloroquine fails and you'll find plenty more opinion pieces from well-known media sources like FoxNews and the National Review making that baseless false assertion.

Do you have links to these RIGOROUS studIES that you speak?

The most rigorous studies are still being conducted, but anything that comes out that suggests HCL is less than a miracle cure-all is immediately panned by anyone who likes Trump and wants him to be right about this.

The idea that I'm the “pot calling the kettle black” doesn't work because I have never criticized any study with any conclusion. Why? Because I'm not a doctor or medical researcher and have no qualification to do so.

Personally, I have heard enough to think that HCL is probably helpful to some people in some situations, and hopefully medical research can clarify which ones those are. I also think the same thing about the other treatments that are under test. Trump supporters are so laser-focused in on HCL that they forget there are some other promising treatments out there being tested.

Then stop acting like it.

I can't "stop" acting like something that I've never acted like in the first place.

Trump's electoral prospects are outside the scope of this thread, but judging by how elections went in 2017, 2018, and 2019 in America, it's pretty safe to say that middle-of-the-road people are being pushed away by Trump, not the reverse. Democrats have improved on their 2016 margins in statewide elections pretty much everywhere. We'll see if the trend changes suddenly, but Republicans have spent the last 3+ years promising that Democrats are so meeeeeean to Trump and that's going to turn off voters, but that's apparently not true. Facts outweigh feelings and actual election results outweigh random predictions.

And if you were my doctor and told me not to take it, I’d listen. Might get a second opinion but I’d listen.

I haven’t watched more than 60 mins of news on tv in probably a year. When I do, I typically flip between cnn and fox then turn it off Bc it makes me think less of humanity as a whole.

I have liberal friends.

I’m speaking abt the left who hates trump no matter what. You know who you are. You don’t have to admit it.

If Donald trump created a cure for covid that removed it from the world and gave all proceeds away or didn’t get any proceeds, you’d have a problem with him. Replace covid for anything else in that scenario and same result.

I voted for trump and will vote for him again. He is a clown sometimes. I can separate the two.

We believe it Bc of what we read on here and see in the news.
It’s not the “left”. It’s the crazy left.

Hell Trump isn’t “right”. There are plenty of far right people who think trump is “left”. He’s just way right of the far left which has lost all touch with reality.

Case in point. AOC telling people to not go back to work to prove a point. She hasn’t lost it. She never had it.

See but there's the problem.

If Donald trump created a cure for covid that removed it from the world and gave all proceeds away or didn’t get any proceeds

1) He's gleefully ignorant man-child with a goldfish's attention span, throwing an everlasting tantrum. A hypothetical where he creates anything scientifically useful is already beyond fantasy. Plus this is someone who has been shouting anti-vax ******** for years. No exactly "pro-science"

2) Since when is he in the business of not getting any proceeds? This is the president who wipes his *** with the emoluments clause, redefines crony capitalism, and costs taxpayers ungodly amounts of money on golfing trips to his own properties.

Excuse me if I don't hop right into the narrative that he would suddenly become a completely different human being.

All that being said? I'd be ecstatic if he did. I have absolutely no problem acknowledging when a politician does the right thing, regardless of political affiliation. With some politicians it's much harder than others.

1) Zero Hedge is the outlet you’re running with? I’ve never even heard of it. Calling that a legit conservative outlet is like saying Jeremiah Short is a MSU reporter. I googled what you said and didn’t see one headline like you said and I wasn’t going to read each and every article that popped up.

2) You literally posted that Trump followers were ignoring rigorous studies disproving the drug’s lack of success and then come back saying the studies were still being held. You’re confusing. How can one ignore what’s not out there?
If you’re hoping the drug works, why are you calling out anyone doing the same? You’re claiming that folks that are hopeful are idiot Trump followers.

3) We’ll see. I remember when Trump had literally single digit odds of being elected. Single digit.

Case in point right here!

Here’s 2 more good exampleS.

Tough on immigration - multiple Democrat leaders including Obama and pelosi were heavy on illegal immigration and border control including a “barrier” until Donald Trump campaigned with “build the wall”

Kids in cages - Obama had “kids in cages” but we never once heard abt it. Now orange man so bad.

Golfing? Obama golfed too. He vacationed a lot. He held NCAA tourney bracket selections.

Poor poor hypocrites.

November 2020 gonna suck.

I don't watch any tv news, but Fox News is part of my online news feed and I have seen none of those dozens you are talking about. I have commented on this topic multiple times on this board and have never said treatment with this drug was never effective. In fact, one of my "dissertations" was an explanation of cases in which it was highly likely to be effective. What I have said repeatedly is "It clearly is not the silver bullet Trump and his supporters want it to be" and "It is a very dangerous drug for people with many of the underlying conditions which make them most at risk of dying from covid19." But I am well aware that the facts never get in the way of your attacks on anyone who opposes your narrative that the media is out to destroy your Dear Leader.

This is the false narrative that Trump supporters keep repeating. Nobody is pulling for it not to work. We are simply digesting the information available and saying this is not the miracle we are looking for and the side effects make it a very bad option for the people that most need to be saved from Covid 19.

I heard one day last week, that OCH had treated 4 patients with COVID. One of them was an elderly gentleman that was going down fast. Hydroxychloroquine/Azithromyacine/Zinc was administered, and he recovered and was sent home. They said he was adamant that it saved his life.
