There's a brotherhood in basketball that just can't be explained.

It's really beautiful to hear the whole crew sharing their thoughts.

I think, the difference in NBA...is that even the legends are still alive.

Bill Russell is still alive, Jerry west is part of the league, Bird/Magic is still part of NBA (for most part), as well as MJ. Kobe was kind of part of this brotherhood. I think, that's what's unique about it.

Partially.

It's also in the fabric of the game. It's why stars as so much more marketable than in other sports. There's a personality to it. An individuality. It's almost creative in some ways. Everybody has a different jumper or different dribble moves.

There's also a direct experience on the court. Everybody plays both sides of the ball. You directly match up with your opponent. You talk to him. You guard him. He guards you. There's a respect and bond that gets forged there.

The down time is also more communal. Pick up games. Shoot arounds. It's a game of stories and people and moments and everybody is connected somehow if you look very closely.

And even among the talented legends who worked like maniacs, there's an appreciation for a "kid" who came in and was even more talented and still worked even harder. You can tell they respect what he stood for and how he did it. He loved the game.

I'm impressed at folks involved in other sports that have shared in it. Even Bill Belichick spoke about it, and I've found him to be fairly self-absorbed.

sorry the truth about saint Kobe isn't all that great

Yeah you keep up your BS act on here. Nothing you have ever said on this forum has been positive or contributing nothing but venom and troll baiting nonsense.

One of these days you will get what you deserve. Then you will slink back under a pseudonym for more.

But don’t think for even a second that EVERYONE on this board doesn’t know exactly what you are and what your intentions have been. You haven’t fooled anyone from the start.

BS—I’m not gonna get into a debate with what everyone acknowledges is a troll. You have said on here so many different stories it’s laughable at this point. You were only a Cal fan, you were not a UK fan, etc etc etc.

I’m done debating what I already know. You keep up your nonsense. I and others will keep calling you out with your moronic drivel.

Please stop responding to whoever that is so those of us who use the ignore feature don't have to remember they exist.

The type of person who uses moments of tragedy to be contrarian and bring attention to themselves isn't worth engaging about anything ever. Let them scream into the abyss that their lives have become.

You won't change their minds or embarrass them because they're incapable of that level of humanity.

I'll watch herro I won't watch another minute of crocodile tears and idol worship for the fake hero Kobe rapist Bryant
It’s obvious you take pleasure in being a jerk on this forum. I don’t understand that. I’m truly sorry for you.

Sometimes, I think if posters got banned it’d do them more good than the board. If trolling an internet board is so much fun for you that you’ve posted over 2600 times in less than a year being an *** to everyone, you’re really missing out on life. Turn the phone off/close the laptop and go outside and interact with the real world. You’ll find it more enjoyable than trying to make others miserable.

This is so true. I at times respond to prove a point that is sadly unprovable.

Kobe had his faults but made up for him and he will always be a legend in the game of basketball. To the posers 12 years, is nothing, Kobe was playing ball before way before u were a fan of our team. Many kids modeled their game after him. He was charitable and gave back many times to people in need.

You all need to learn how to use Ignore. I don't know who you're yelling at, or what they said, but i ain't missing it.

I miser the pregame show, but the postgame was also moving. Rick Fox was on and clearly he is still shaken by how some idiots in the media scared the hell out of all of his family and friends by reporting that he was among the crash victims. Derek Fisher was at LAX preparing to fly for a business meeting when he got the news. His family begged him to come home and he did. Said he almost collapsed when he heard that Fox was one of the victims .Fisher lives very close to the crash site.
