Poor TJ...I hope it works out for him but with rates more than likely creeping up more next year, most in the banking industry are expecting the plethora of houses on the market not to exist anymore. There is a lack of inventory now and its not just because of this time of year.

Not in a mean way at all but I think he needed a career change. Hope it works TJ.

is TJ like an original founder? I'm not familiar with his role at KSR other than the occasional read

There is nothing wrong with getting a job that actually pays money to do. Unlike the radio industry which is largely a volunteer gig where you hope to move to a media market that actually pays. Radio is not that industry.

Crazy to leave the #1 independent college basketball site on the iheartradio network like that.
I'm not convinced that writing for KSR is the plum job you think it is. TJ was never part of the boys club on KSR anyway so his profile there minimal at best.

I assume his seat is open to anyone who's heard of AAU basketball at least once in their life?

I remember when Alan Cutler used to make $65 a day for his 3 hour radio show. You can buy a whole lot of Little Debbie’s for 65 dollars.

Maybe we'll get lucky and seats will drop to 65 bucks for 3rd row. I've actually been waiting to see how long people would pay these insane prices. I don't think new age television sets or fancy DVRD players are the peoblem with attendance. Personally, and maybe this is just me Aike, but personally I believe the destruction of the middle class and 500 bucks a seat in today's world has played the biggest role.

Or not, it could be Samsung I guess

I think it’s a combination. The most expensive seats I’ve ever had to sporting events were probably around $300, but I don’t think I’ve personally ever paid more than $75 maybe?

I just don’t see the value. I thought about buying some nice tickets to the Final Four in 2015, but I took my family to Disney World that week instead for basically the same money. Bet you know I’m glad I made that decision.

Best decision of your life. You have kids young enough for Disney World for real? I feel like you're way older than that. Must be the insane wisdom that flows. You seem to have the mental prowess of a 55 year old man. I always think of the word donnish.

I'll know when the sht is really about to hit the fan because you'll be nervous.

I've bought scalpers tickets to Rupp for a handful of UNC games over the years and I don't even want to admit what I paid for those, Final Four at face value for New Orleans, Dallas and Indianapolis (NCAA Lottery)

its very pricey for nosebleed. I really have no interest to pay those prices anymore.

I don't blame UK, but I agree, prices aren't in line with the fanbase they represent.

The current state and direction of the program is hurting their business, not surprising.
Football is doing really well an UK has only lost two games in basketball so I dont think it has anything to do with the state of the program. That site still does well as does their morning show

People think because you are on the radio or even local TV that you make a lot of money. That is far from reality. Local news.... the weekend sports guy may be doing it for net to nothing just to get a chance to be seen.

The vast majority that go to that site go for b-ball. MJhas said said that many times. Their fearless leader has also said recently live on-air that clicks are down and ratings are down. How much more evidence would you like?

Jones and Aaron Torres weigh in expressing some of the same sentiments we've seen on here for the last two week.

Matt talks about the general lack of interest the fans have with the program now and Torres asks why we should watch bad basketball in December.

Either they get their talking points from here or its not as isolated as some people would like to believe.

Okay - so I have a co worker who bought 6 tickets to the SEC CG the first year the game was in Atlanta. Somehow, that put him on a list where he can buy 6 lower level seats each year at face value, directly from the SEC. His six tickets cost him ~$1,100 this year.

He sells them in 3 pairs. This year, he sold the pair that included the aisle seat for ~$2,200.

He told me that his best year was the year Missouri went and he got a guy from Missouri to pay $8,000 for 2 tickets, including the aisle seat.

He told he was really wanting Kentucky to make it this year.

The guy lives in DC and has only been to the game one time. But, he’s sitting here funding his children’s college with these tickets, having jumped on the opportunity nearly 2 decades ago, when the championship game was still a fledgling.

By contrast, another co worker tried to go big on Big X championship tickets, and reportedly couldn’t give them away.

Remember when he lost a car after his falling out with Chris Cross? I bet he needed that car.

I remember the first time seeing Cutler at a UK football game and seeing the cheap-o jeans he was wearing. I realized then he was doing it for the love of the game.

By contrast, Kenny Rice always seemed to dress the part, and he made it pretty big.
However, I did see him at the dollar theater once.
