Conspiracy theorists and political bickerists go grace another thread.

What's your favorite random, less known MSU memory? Mine might be Charles Rhodes kissing center court after an absolute bama ***-kicking.

2000 Bama game in Starkville. Rumor was Bama was going to take Jackie after the season. As the final minutes of the game ticked down, State fans waved white rags in appreciation of Jackie. We won the game. Post game in the locker room, LT gave Jackie a trophy for most wins as a HC in MSU history. The ceremony was played on the video board. At least half the stadium stayed at their seat to watch the presentation. It was an emotional moment in MSU football history.

In 2008, Ricky Bowen was surprisingly a very mediocre pitcher after being good the year before. The whole team was really bad in fact after making the CWS the year before.

But on one random day, he was one out away from a no-hitter against Ole Miss. I really wish he'd gotten it.

We beat a ranked LSU team in 1991 at the Hump when Shaq was a sophomore. It was the last game of the regular season and the win wrapped up a share of the SEC title with LSU. Me and my dad rushed the court, along with a few hundred others. I made the front page of the SDN.

Super regional in Charlottesville VA in 2013, tiny *** stadium but there were a surprisingly good showing of state fans there. Adam Frazier had something like a 7 hit game and the roll calls to start the game were especially awesome, we completely drowned out the home fans.

1994. I faked sick to not work and watch the MSU/UTennessee football game. I had a strange feeling the day before we would beat them and even told my homer UT friend we would.

We handed a very young Peyton Manning led Vols a loss on a Kendall Watkins late in the 4th TD.

One of my favorite State wins.

Not sure. I was pretty young. Live in KC now, so I try to forget snow storms are a thing since we get them regularly.

I’m not sure this qualifies as lesser known.... but the thrill of beating a Bruce a Pearl and TN in the SECT championship game to get the auto bid to the NCAAs was really fun to go through.

2004 clinching the regular season men's hoops championship vs Auburn and Marcus Campbell bringing the ball down the court at the end of the game dribbling behind his back, between his legs.

Also, Stansbury getting thrown out and giving the choke sign.

Fall 2000: football vs UF. Spurier elected to wave the white flag and take safety after 3rd & 57. Good win. Then, the next week, Auburn came to town. I remember watching, from student section, their players jumping on our mid field logo prior to game. When handled them as well. That was a great couple of weeks

Camping outside the Hump before our game with Arkansas our final four year. Cold as hell. Athletic Dept brought us pizza about 1:00am. The almost non-highlight was me in the back of a SUV polishing off an ice cold beer when all of a sudden campus police was shining a light in and knocking on the back glass. But they just made us put the ice chest in a different vehicle. Then we went on to kick the snot out of Nolan's boys the next day.

I remember 04 tourney game. Was in a hotel in MS for a wedding, watching the game and some friends of ours from Tuscaloosa who were tide fans going to the same wedding were in the next room. They'd holler and beat on the common door between us everytime they took the lead.

Timmy 17'in Bowers.

We made an obnoxious racket and beat on that door for about five minutes. They couldn't bring themselves to even speak to me at the wedding.

One of the most shocking wins in MSU football history was the 2004 Florida game. Croom’s first year. We had a 1-5 record with losses to Maine, UAB and Vandy and were averaging about 14 points per game. So of course we score 38 points to beat Florida and get Ron Zook fired. Norwood went off that day, rushed for nearly 200 yards and Jonathan Lowe returned a punt for a touchdown. Funniest part of the game was the stadium was a little more than half full at the beginning but the longer the game went on, the more people showed up. By the time it was over, the student section was about full and everyone stormed the field. That’s the last time the goalposts were torn down at Davis Wade.

Especially after some jackwagon in an orange and white jet buzzed the tower over the field. I know he was higher than that, but the way I remember it, he nearly hit the scoreboard.

I lived in Memphis at the time and Vol fans at that time were really really bad. They looked down on us. I wore extra State gear that week all week long.

Norwood put on a show that day. Me and my group went to that game just hoping to hold UF to under 50 points. That was a very under rated win.

This was my first trip to Tuscaloosa. My dad had a rule that you had to be male and 21 or over to go with him and his friends on that trip. I was a sophomore but all his friends backed out, for obvious reasons during the crxxm era, so he let me and two buddies go. He also didn't bring enough whiskey in the game as he thought we wouldn't be there longer than a half. As college students, we did, so he took ours on the premise that he paid for it anyway. We went out and celebrated afterwards, much to the demise of a mutual friend who went to state but still cheered for Bama.

Two of the better games I've ever attended at Davis Wade. I remember the weather being especially nice on the day of the Florida win.

In 2016, he had to make a record number of pickoff attempts at the runner on first base. I think it was at Bama.

My son, grandson and I drove over from Ohio for that series. As I recall, we had something like 22 hits in one of those games. After the game UVA fans were bitching about all the noise the State fans made. We told them they should go to Starkville for a game if they thought we were loud at their place.

Great game! My first on campus. Some UT plane buzzed the stadium.

The 1995 Valentine's Night Massacre. Our first victory ever over Kentucky at Rupp Arena. That game was just amazing watching Super D, Damp, and Marcus Grant carve up Pitino's boys. It was also really cool that a good friend of mine and his wife were decked out in their MSU sweatshirts sitting right behind the bench (he was in seminary at Asbury at the time) and going nuts throughout, while surrounded in a deep sea of blue. That game more than any other showed me that RW had built a legitimate front-runner team that could do some future damage (which we did, especially the next year).

Croom years, 07. Was buying a truck at the dealership and wasn't bothering to watch the State KY game, KY was ranked top 10 I think, they had that monster qb at the time. Guy in the dealership (/East TN) had the game on a little TV on his desk when I went in to work out the deal, and we were ahead and about to score again. I was speechless. Sat there while he did the contracts and watched us whip them but good. Great truck.

Some I have been to
96 MBB SEC Tournament.... 25K UK Fans maybe 500 MSU Fans... leaving the Dome and seeing boxes of UK SEC Tournament Champ T-Shirts sitting on sidewalk.

2014 Auburn Football Game... #1

98 Game Against UPig...still not 100% sure Hazlewoods kick was good.

98 KP returning the Punt for TD against UT in Georgia Dome... if we had a healthy JJ Johnson we would have won.

CJ Sirmones wide open...

Smoke Burns hitting FT’s in a silent Hump against Ole Miss... is he still missing?

Tech and 10... it was miserable

Remember the Maine.

Jackie’s first win against BAMA

2012 SEC Baseball Tournament vs LSU. Cohen pinch hits with Luis Pollorena in the bottom of the 9th of a one run game and our whole fanbase was like WTF is he doing. Pollo gets a sac fly to tie it, we win in extras on a Matthew Britton walk-off hit (I think he was hitting like .120 at the time) and end up winning the tourney.

Great memories from those two. Auburn's highly regarded rushing offense had exactly ZERO first downs in the first half.
