As a former sportswriter I love to hear from the analysts... what in your opinion turned Costello from Heisman candidate to goat so quickly? Was it LSU not having as many quality players? Was it that LSU was not ready to face the Air Raid? Or was it just pure luck?

KJ just isn't as good going through progressions. And he's spooked because of the INTs so he's more hesitant to make a tough throw. And he's not mobile at all which is the big difference I think. If he had at least some moderate mobility defenses would probably play us a little differently.

He is also a wimp and trying to preserve himself for his fifth round draft pick.

Bench him and be done with him.

With the benefit of hindsight a lot of the "great throws" into "tight windows" from week 1 now look like lucky breaks.

It really is almost inconceivable that he could throw for 600+ yards in one week and then immediately pull a 180. There’s plenty of explanation for why LSU was prepared but you can’t just entirely luck into that type of performance. It seems like at the first sign of adversity he lost 100% of his confidence, and is now reading everything wrong. He’s throwing to the check down like it’s his first read, throwing into triple coverage, and the cherry is the throw three yards down field when he could walk to a first down. He’s got the QB yips.

My amateur perspective is that LSU has terrible defensive coordinator and they gave KJ easy reads. Once he met mild resistance he made a few mistakes. Now he’s so shook he can’t be trusted in any situation. I hate for the young man but I think it’s over for him. There is no time to regroup and settle down because the competition only gets harder from here. They can’t even beat Vandy with performances like we saw tonight.

You have to play Rogers and Shrader here on out... but Leach is a hard headed coach and probably won’t do that.
