If Mark Pope loves the University of Kentucky basketball as much as he claims he does, then he'd resign. He has to know he isn't fit for this job.

I don't care what we have to do to guilt his *** to quit. Use religion and tell him he's being a bad Christian by staying on for year 3. Show him this board. Have Boogie berate him for 2 hours. I don't care at this point.

If you care about this program, leave it.

I’m almost wondering if Mark came here to grab 20 million and wants to be bought out. Did Mitch get ***** slapped again?

He sabotaged his own recruiting. He sabotages his own leads. His subbing doesn’t make sense to anyone. He loses as soon as he gets momentum. He doesn’t coach the team to go to hot players. He doesn’t discipline.

I mean is he a con that just used Mitch to come in and grab 20 million real quick? I honestly don’t know. He’s so bizarre.

The only love I’m turning down 5m for is my kids. As much as I love UK, they’re a multi-BILLION dollar institution. They’ll be okay.

He’s a good man, husband and father, just not a good enough coach for UK. He’ll get a third year and I don’t blame him for not stepping down. Would anyone turn down a $6M season? You or I wouldn’t I don’t think.

Well he does things that make me wonder what’s his play here? He’s the opposite of all coaches. Why? Why take players out hot? Why play guys to kill leads and not call timeouts? Why allow players to disrespect you? Why kill your own recruiting over and over without a pitch you know doesn’t work? I mean it’s a little weird to me, because if I were self sabotaging, that’s what it would look like.

Maybe hes just that bad. In any event, he needs to be fired at seasons end case closed. I don’t care how good of a man he is, he’s ruining this program. We don’t hire because you’re nice.

You have just posted my exact thoughts. He just doesn’t do much of anything that makes sense and it drives me INSANE! We start to build momentum and a decent lead and then his goofy *** goes completely away from whats working? For the life of me I just cant understand this guy? Jesus Christ!!!!!

I would hope so. Luckily Pope isn’t their hire, it may make the transition faster and easier. He’s in over his head. Anyone who thinks we will win even a single tourney game is crazy to me. This team is way too badly coached. Not enough talent. I feel bad for 00, dude has balled out for two years to end like this.

We will lose Chandler when Pope is fired, but the program must come first.

There are rumblings that it could be a Mitch guy, and with Mitch in close proximity at his new job, we may end up with a Scott Drewesque coach in another botched search.

Would be a devastating blow to the greatest college basketball program in the history of the country.

It’s bizarre that you think you know better than a national championship player and (somewhat/unproven) coach in Pope. He may (probably will) fail as a coach here, but the fact you think you know more is an absolute joke. Truthfully, I wish UK would ditch Pope and hire some of the fools like you and others that criticize coaches like this. Just so we could trash you guys and the absolute nonsense ridiculous takes you guys make. Go blue!
