Matt Ruhle sucks!!! How is he a coach for Nebraska? A 7th grader could make better coaching decisions!
What talented recruit in their right mind would play for Nebraska right now??? We are horrible now and have been horrible for years and this coach and coaching staff is clueless.

This was posted directly after we called a timeout with 23 seconds left in this game because we couldn’t get lined up…but yes, point taken… same result different day.
Pissed away two of their timeouts on a challenge that had 0% chance of succeeding and after a QB run out of bounds, then lost the game trying to throw down the middle with no timeouts left. But here come the slobbering apologists to tell us how none of this is on the coaches.
I don't know WTF Purdy was thinking with a little over a minute left on 3rd down. He just snapped the ball with like 25 seconds left on the game clock on 3rd and long and over a minute left on the clock. How is your brother one of the best NFL QBs and you're pulling off stuff like that?
We didn't lose a timeout on the challenge, I'm guessing that was a booth review. We did, however, waste a timeout before a punt, one of the absolute dumbest things you can do.
No, we called timeout before the punt, after a sack of their qb, and then when we couldn't get lined up on the last drive.
Maybe I'm wrong, play by play on ESPN says iowa called the timeout after that sack. That was dumb of them.
It was even dumber for NU to try and take a TO there. 41 secs left, NU would have been out of TOs. Iowa could still have just run out the clock if they wanted to. It made zero sense to even TRY to take a TO there.
It is extremely peculiar...the time management. Rhule and Purdy are not the only ones that screw it up. And it is NOT complicated. The blabbering TV announcers routinely point out time-management mistakes...it's just basic stuff that every kid playing Maddon on his Xbox has figured out.
I saw Rhule telling Purdy to spike the ball, which I presume he meant after any completion in bounds. He never gave himself a chance. Geezus - threw that pass right to the Linebacker...just incredible.
I thought we would have been better off throwing deep at that point. Maybe we get lucky, and any INT is going to be deep in Iowa's own territory.

Totally agree. KF has been doing this for years. No excuse to use that timeout especially when Nebraska was going to use it. Then Iowa could’ve run the ball and went in OT. Crazy game management and play calls on both sides that last minute.
Iowa played for OT by their play-calling on their 2nd to last possession but we turned down invite by trying to be cute. Chances of getting to fg range (versus that defense) and making fg are less than 1%?? Our coaches don't seem to know the identity of their own team or the opponent.
