Read an article by someone who got a preview. TW refused to participate. Breaks no new ground. Rehash. Spends less than 10 minutes at the end on the 19 Masters. Writer described it as a nothing burger.

It could be cool for someone who hasn't lived thru his time as a pro, but anyone thats a golf fan(so they would want to watch this doc) and was a teen or older in the 90s has to know everything in the doc, right?
I mean, the guy's life is extremely documented.

Demanding dick of a dad, pushed to be great at a young age by dad doin crazy **** to test him, prodigy golfer, incredible sustained success, reworked swing multiple times, cheated on wife like crazy, fell from grace, lots of back issues and surgeries, a bit of a comeback, and here we are in present day.

There- some spoilers for anyone that has managed to not know about Tiger and didn't want to watch an HBO doc.

I watched it. Episode one is all about his childhood and his rise and dominance. Goes into great details about how crazy demanding both parents were. How he was in the spotlight his whole life and has always been viewed as a golf prodigy since he was a young child. If you've read his book not much is that telling, but the interviews are pretty wild. Talked about how his dad had an RV at the course where he would cheat on Tiger's mom and how Tiger just grew up always knowing his dad was sleeping around on his mom. Next episode is all about the downfall.

If they get into his obsession with the Seals and military training and how that might have contributed to some of his injuries, that might be news to people that are interested in Tiger. All that's out there but not sure how many people took the time to read it, as it wasn't headline news when it came out.

This. He is very much a product of his raising. There is one fun disclosure: Tiger's little asian mama refers to Phil as "Hefty."

I thought there was a 60min interview where they show Tiger in fatigues talking about the military interest. He was out in a desert in SoCal or something like that. Maybe im confused as its been a handful of years.
I do agree though that even if that was on 60min, its probably something that not a huge number of general sports fans know about. And yeah I could see that possibly being detrimental to Tiger's back.

There was an anonymous interview a few years back with some guys in Seal Team 7 where they said Tiger was allowed to pull up at Coronado and run room clearing drills with them using rubber bullets. They said one night he got hit in the knee with two rounds and went down hard. He'd also been training with another guy running 9 minute miles with a 60 lb backpack.

Later that month he won the US Open with a mysterious chipped bone and torn ACL.

A bit of a comeback? Was it his support of trump that got you?

What the 17?

- I dont follow Tiger's political views.
- I couldn't care less if Tiger donates to Trump, voted for Trump, is a personal friend of Trump, etc etc.
- 17 yes it was a bit of a comeback. Look at where he was. Is he there now? No. Not close. If he made a full comeback,, he would have been consistently dominating the best in the world. And even when factoring for natural age regression, a full comeback would mean significantly more success than he has had. What he has done is impressive and I am not cheapened it at all. The guy was so damn great pre-9iron incident and injury that this has been 'a bit' of a comeback.
