- CCSU is 0-6 this season.

- They have lost to UMass by 27 points and to St Johns by 17 points. Other losses have been to Quinnipiac (2 points); Lafayette; UMBC and Maine.

- Head Coach is Patrick Sellers in his 2nd year. Sellers was an assistant under Jay Young at Fairfield and also was an assistant at UConn for approx 6 years. Thus a "Relationship" game.

- They have 4 players who average between 10-13 PPG who are: Kellen Amos; Nigel Scuttlebury (6' guard); Devonte Sweatman (5'8" G) and Andre Snoddy.

- Some team stats: Team averages 66 PPG; 3 Point % = 37% and FT % = 66%.

- Only local player is Abdul Momoh - A Sophomore F via Carteret and the Patrick School. He averages approx 19 minutes per game.

- CCSU plays in the NEC and their nickname is the Blue Devils.

Well other than a couple other cupcakes at the end of December every other game is going to be a challenge on some level. Hope the boys enjoy an easy one tomorrow before the real season begins.

Rutgers led at half last year 44-14 in a laugher. CCSU does appear to be improved this year going off their margin of losses this year

Point spread opened at 24. CCSU is ranked 339th of 363 in KenPom. Rutgers is 38th.

It’s poor preparation for Wednesday’s game in Coral Gables.

It's not poor preparation for the young players as they need experience while Caleb and Paul are out. You don't want to overload the young guys as they adjust to the faster and more physical college game. Simpson and Wolf can use another tune-up game.

While kenpom isn’t a valuable tool until 10+ games are played, it is nonetheless impressive (imo) that Rutgers ranks #38 without Caleb and (for the past 2 and 2/3 games) Paul.

This group has been playing very nicely together.
