Fiberglass backboards suck and are cheap. It's a campus/city court. Show me one that has state of the art backboards and I'll show you one that is broken. If you want to complain about something, go with the double rims. Those are an abomination regardless of durability. You don't think Iowa is capable of replacing the 1950s backboards? LOL
Probably would have taken 15 minutes and a couple hundred bucks.
When people have modern fiberglass backboards in their driveways, it strikes me as odd that Iowa still has those ancient things. That's all. If you think the old stuff is cool, good for you.
Yup.I say this every year and ill say it again. Iowa has the dumbest people in charge of selling tickets.
Do some family packs for these early season games.
4 tickets + 4 drinks + 4 hot dogs for $60.
Or anything similar.
Get fans inside carver to see the new product on the court.
There usually aren't many tickets for sale directly. Most of the decent empty seats are owned by people that didn't go. If you try to buy tickets for ANY game through the university ticketing site you're going to generally find singles only in decent areas. Most public tickets are in the baseline towards the top. Season tickets are cheap enough that you can buy them for the good games and throw away the rest. And unless they're really good they're barely worth the trouble of trying to sell for most of the non-con games. Though I wish people would just throw them on SeatGeek or StubHub for a dollar to get fans or ideally families with kids to buy in and help fill the place. With the fees it makes it like $12 to buy them.Yup.
Why would you want empty seats when you could simply offer a discount package. The only thing I can think of is upsetting those that already paid full price.
SE Missouri State led Missouri at the half and only lost 89-84. That should be a good game. There usually aren't many tickets for sale directly. I might pick up a trio for southeast Missouri in two weeks. I was just looking for examples for this post and came across these. I can bring the kid and his girlfriend for $60 through the university site. Section B row 16. Against a quality opponent that would be a steal. Tickets aren't overpriced or need to be deeply discounted. They're already pretty cheap and adjusted for less desirable games. The demand just isn't there.
too many fouls and free throwsBetter numbers but the crowd never seemed to get into the game last night. Women's crowd is much louder.
Is it really even worth mentioning? You don't think Iowa is capable of replacing the 1950s backboards? LOL

I think we're trending in the right direction! Click on "Game By Game" for attendance.Announced attendance (total tickets sold & handed out) last night was 11,678.
Actual butts in the seats (scanned tickets) is always less.
Was the 15,000 seat arena at least 2/3 full?

I think one ticket, one brat, and one craft beer would probably come pretty close to that 60$ sadly.I say this every year and ill say it again. Iowa has the dumbest people in charge of selling tickets.

I’d say wait until we see the product during big ten season. Fran dug us a hole with the fan base and it will take time for Ben to get out of. If we are successful they wil ***Mac could win 25 games and we’ll have 2-3 games sold out. No difference for our fans. I’ve heard all the excuses in the world (some are valid) but I just don’t see much changing.

Lots of empty seats.

you are going to tell John Big Donor that gives $50,000 a year that if he doesn't use the seats then they we don't want his money anymore? They need to revoke the season tickets of those prime seats if those tickets dont get scanned for like 60% of the games.
The average fan never has access to seats within the first 20 rows because they're all taken from long term season ticket holders.
University doesn't care though because they're getting the $400 and $600 donation requirement for those seats.
It amazes me how those great seats rarely get used. Money obviously isnt a problem with those ticket holders. Put them on seatgeek and let someone sit there.
Its 600 a seat donation. There's many people that will pay that donation to sit in great seats. The problem is, nobody has access to those seats because they've been in the same family for 30 years. They attend 5 games a year.you are going to tell John Big Donor that gives $50,000 a year that if he doesn't use the seats then they we don't want his money anymore?
Plus it would get some people in that might have never been. A sale to attract new long term customers? I'm sure that's never been tried in the business world. LolQuoting my own post...
Take a look at the available tickets for tonight's game. There's 8,000+ seats still available. Yes, a dumb opponent. But why not offer a 4 ticket pack for 50 bucks that includes a small coke and bag of chips.
Why let carver sit empty against these no-name opponents?
That would be terrible for when the women play, also recruiting pitches the sold out 15,000+ seats to recruits for the WBB.Reduce seats to 9k, surround top with luxury boxes
It’s definitely not 600 dollars a seat for the seats you can see empty on tv during gameplay. I’m not sure what it is but it’s a heck of a lot more than that. Its 600 a seat donation. Iowa 93-54 Chicago State (Nov 20, 2025) Final Score - ESPN

Seats between the baseline starting at row 6 are $600 per seat donation.
The first 5 rows require a lot more.
Rows 6-25 are empty for all of the midweek games. They are only full during the weekend games. If you're not going to use them, put them on seatgeek so fans can sit there.
Yea. I’m in Zone 1 but closer to the top than the floor. Always wondered what people in those lower rows have to donate.Seats between the baseline starting at row 6 are $600 per seat donation.

Here's how season ticket sales are going (info from 2 days ago).
Interesting, I don't think I've seen this before
