not to surprised that the women sold out another full season, but do we have any idea how the men's ticket sales are coming along?

Here are the 2024-25 attendance averages for each Big Ten program:

Here was last years tickets sold, I would guess butts in seats was about 60% of Iowa's number sold

1. Indiana: 16,447
2. Illinois: 15,091
3. Wisconsin: 15,006
4. Nebraska: 14,964
5. Purdue: 14,876
6. Michigan State: 14,797
7. Maryland: 15,157
8. Michigan: 12,007
9. Ohio State: 11,578
10. Iowa: 9,161
11. Minnesota: 8.923
12. Rutgers: 8,593
13. Oregon: 7,514
14. Penn State: 7,469
15. Washington: 7,044
16. UCLA: 6,990

That was a cool idea, but I wonder why Iowa couldn't put up standard fiberglass backboards. Most people who have hoops in their driveway have standard fiberglass backboards. The wood or metal, fan-shaped boards went out of fashion a long, long time ago.

Still, the event was a great idea, and the halfcourt make was awesome.

Nothing Iowa does is good enough for you, is it?

Terrace tickets are gone for all games. I looked yesterday and there were 8 open for the terrace. In 5 more minutes when I went back in they were gone. That was for UCLA. Then looked at the other games and none were available. There are plenty of single game so far.

Probably because that court was already there and why they decided to hold the event there.

9,232 was the announced attendance last night.

No great, but I’m hoping the product we watched last night excited some new fans to buy tickets

Just a reminder: announced attendance (9,232) is the total tickets sold & given away. The actual butts in the seats (scanned tickets) is always less.

Would have been a fun game to be at in person, imo :)

You don't think Iowa is capable of replacing the 1950s backboards? LOL

Probably would have taken 15 minutes and a couple hundred bucks.

When people have modern fiberglass backboards in their driveways, it strikes me as odd that Iowa still has those ancient things. That's all. If you think the old stuff is cool, good for you.

Too bad the University of Iowa, an institution of higher learning, doesn't understand the meaning of the word "attendance." Every attendance figure for some time now has been a lie, in college and pro sports. "Attendance" actually means how many physical entities were present. Tickets sold is an entirely different thing. And, personally, I think it's ridiculous that at least the university can't be honest and transparent. I would suggest reporting both figures: Tickets sold and Attendance. But I'm sure that's just me. Apparently it doesn't bother Beth or anyone else in major sports these days.

The Gazette, for the last couple years, had to do a FOIA (freedom of information act) to get the scanned ticket information from the UI.

Actual butts in the seats was a HUGE issue at the end of the Fran era, of course.
