I’m sure everyone has received multiple calls about renewing season tix if you haven’t done so already. Today I received a call telling me that today was the last day to renew. We barely have a roster and today is the last day to renew? Pretty sad work by SHU Athletics.

Sales has their own timelines and goals to hit. As much as I'm sure they'd rather have a full and promising roster to sell right now (as it would make their jobs quite a bit easier), they can't sit around doing nothing until basketball opps is ready. They've gotta work with what they have, and one thing they need to know is what locations they have available to sell - that's what the renewal deadline is for.

I'm sure they'll sell you tickets in September if you'd rather wait, it just may have to be a different location.

No it’s not. It’s the way business is done.

I renewed my tickets in mid August last year after we got Hines. 99% of our season ticket seats will not be sold out from under them. Even if you wait forever to renew. We can't even get half the bowl sold for season tickets.

All conventional timelines and way of doing business has been uprooted by this new model. The idea of having an actual team in place to market the sales is over.

Only they know the impact and whether or not to keep handling it this way. Idk if there’s an alternative.

Of course. The only thing the renewal is really doing (as far as you, the ticket holder are concerned) is guaranteeing retaining your location. It's entirely possible (and based on current demand, possibly even likely) that you'll be able to come back later after the deadline and get your location back, they just no longer guarantee they'll hold it for you.

FWIW, I delayed in renewal last year -- not because I was pouting or holding my breath -- and had to move when my seats got grabbed up in the meantime. And this was coming off the worst season I had ever witnessed.
