Has been a Nebraska lean for a long time, but may be wanting to stay closer to home now. Kind of like Avante Dickerson. Good news is UCLA just flipped a DE from Michigan and now has 4 DE's committed.

What? Are you sure you have the right guy? He released a Top 3 of Nebraska, UCLA and USC just last week. This is one of the top DE prospects in the country. The only way he would end up at one of those schools is if he had some serious grade issues

It was in yesterday's article about where each high school kid was going.

Not saying your wrong, but the LVRJ referenced a kid named Fatafehi Vailea going to N Texas but I didn’t find anything written about Savea.

Greg Smith from Hail Varsity said that the Huskers are pushing him to commit/sign this week but UCLA is asking him to wait it out.

I know it sounds like sour grapes, but if a player picks UCLA instead of Nebraska, I'm not sure he would fit in here anyway.
We’ve lost some tough ones to them over the years. Owa, Darnay Holmes, Rhyme Johnson, Bryant-Strother.

your probably right. UCLA offers one of the best educations in the whole country. A warm location. A great campus setting. Lots of stuff to do. Ocean and mountains within driving distance.
if any of that sounds good then NEB would not be a great fit.

Hard to disagree with you here. Still holding out hope but ...

some of those DEs might end up being DTs. And competition has never prevented several players at the same position from signing with NEB either.
Agreed, if he is afraid of competition would you really want him anyway ? ( Not saying that is the case here, just to clarify )

And a history of mediocre football at best.

Within driving distance on the freeways, may not be a plus.

Football. We're talking about football. All that stuff is great if you're not focused on football. Football.

Had a bad feeling when he didn’t sign. Apparently one side wants him to be a Husker and the other is a Bruin. Not sure which side is which (family or him). Losing him hurts because of home much time we’ve invested in him and also because of our lack of Polynesian presence in Lincoln.

I’m no longer a college aged kid that’s young, dumb, and full of ***, but for me personally, the idea of living in California seems less appealing than slamming my nuts in a car door. And to make sure we’re all clear here, that’s not something I’m into.

Our history is longer than 20 years.
so is UCLAs. but what does something from over 20 years ago have to do with today? how long does a program get to say they "have tradition"? No one says Harvard has "tradition" but i thought i heard they have more national championships than NEB. these recruits were not even alive when NEB was what you describe it as.

thats cool. but millions and millions of other people like it. and i think you can understand why the vast majority of americans do not want to live in nebraska.

We moved from SoCal back to the Omaha Metro this year. Reason #1 was family. But of all the reasons to move out of that state, reason #2 was you can't go anywhere anymore. The freeways are so clogged it takes forever to get anywhere and you take your life in your hands. When I moved there in the early 80s you could easily go to the beach at Huntington for a couple hours around noon, then make it up to Wrightwood by 4PM for night skiing. That kind of thing is impossible now.

We liked a lot of things about living there, the weather, lots to do, having many choices besides NFM for furniture and Hy Vee, Bakers, or Family Fare for groceries, etc., but the congestion was getting overwhelming. But then....college kids aren't worried about where to buy furniture.
