Haven’t listened to today’s pod yet, but I’m still struggling with some of yesterday’s conversation. Not anything specific that was said mind you, but this whole “Leach isn’t gonna change” concept.

I guess it all started with the talk about our lack of big plays, and Robbie said that big plays just isn’t what this offense does.

Then there’s a comment about finding creative ways to get our playmakers the ball, and that pretty much got shot down too.

Then a comment about hiring an innovative Offensive coordinator, and nope… Leach isn’t doing that.

Finally a little talk about recruiting, and well… we all know that Leach isn’t doing that.

I mean, I’m honestly starting to wonder what in the world we’re doing here other than wasting all of our time.

It feels like the latter years of Emory Bellard at MSU. It went well with BobTylers recruits and after they graduated it went down hill. Jo Mo had already used up 2 years of Mullens talent before Leach got to MSU.

I’m not so sure about that. Our recruiting rankings have lived in the mid 20’s for the past 10 years. We have more stars on the OL than I can remember. Our WR are as talented as I have seen. Our RBs are similar even though they are non factors. Our QB is a 3 star like all of the ones we had in the past but Mullen got the most out of them. On D, the talent is similar with the exception of 2018, with our DL being a little weaker than usual, (we miss Davis). Mullen seemed to develop players very well, which looking at Florida and their top 10 classes makes you wonder if the rankings are skewed for bigger schools. I have been on the pessimistic side after Arkansas last year. If we sputter against Vandy, I will believe this system as it’s used today will not work.

I would call what we did against Bummer regression or maybe playing skerred.

I would call it playing Alabama. We played very similar to how we've played all season save for the A&M game. The difference was we were playing one of the two best teams in the country when they were locked in and in a bad mood.

I would agree with that. Plus we had a couple screw ups right out of the gate and I think everybody clenched up after that. Down the toilet it went. These guys need to start the game off good. Mistakes are hard to overcome. An interception, big play given up on defense and then a pick 6. It was over.
