Three point shooting ....

other than McCabe was bad last night. Looks like some of our players are rushing their shots. They are not getting set ( feet aren't square ) before shooting.

without Chit Chat we really don’t have anyone I want shooting 3’s consistently. We have 2 shooters, McCabe and Chit Chat. And Jan ran the game last night exactly how she should for 3 qtrs. Heiden and Stuelke dominated and then they couldn’t hit a shot.

Miami started to double the post and dared us to shoot knowing we couldn’t make crap

I have a feeling this is going to be a trend once team watch the tape

When ChitChat gets back and stremlow comes off bench she will shoot better.
Those 3 are it right now but I expect Kylie and Addie to improve also...miss Lucy.

Deal deserves some grace given her being just her 5th game. Kylie has NEVER been a consistently even good shooter in this her 6th season. I'd temper any expectations on that one.

Deal deserves some grace but I’m not sure how much she will be in the rotation in the B1G. We have 2 3 pt threats and basically nobody else should ever really shoot 1. Feurbach is a helluva defender but her offensive game actually looks somehow worse than last year.

I actually think she's progressing and will be in the rotation if that continues. Partly out of need for another guard who can both score and pass. Its probably between Deal and ERod, and While Erod has had flashes she really needs to settle down. She's just as likely to play you out of a game.....

Addie showed very good shooting beyond the arc with logo range. Shooting in large arenas vs. high school gyms is an adjustment. She will knock them down consistently down the road. Mallegni also was an above 40% 3-point shooter in high school. I didn't start this thread bashing our three point shooting, it was more of an observation that when shooting threes you need to be ready to shoot with good balance and need to square up. Don't rush the shot, be in rhythm.

ChitChat is 12 of 20..60%
Mccabe is at 38%
Stremlow is at 35%.
Addie is 4 of 17.

I am not sure what Deal's high school stats were, but she was labeled a "sharpshooter" and won a 3-point contest her junior year.

It's certainly an area of concern, especially when teams start to double the post to try and slow Ava/Hannah we need to be able to consistently make open looks.

Yep Deal has a great looking shot. She will start hitting them at a higher clip.

Deal is going to be a very good shooter. We will surely need her going forward. I don't think we should forget about Teagan M either her past performance was very good. Jordan Spieser who is considered an elite shooter and Iowa recruited has gotten off to a slow start 10/45. It takes time to adjust to the college game. Early expectations are probably unrealistic.

Don't think I would include ChitChat or Stremlow as good 3 pt shooters. ChitChat shot 32% last year, not bad -not good, but ok. I thought Stremlow shot poorly last year, but I didn't look it up. This year ChitChat was just hot for several games (obviously as no one shoots 60%). We will see how it continues. Addie was having strugling but seems to maybe getting it going now.

Can't really comment on CC Wright, because I never saw her play prior to these few games. Stremlow progressed late last season and early this year. Mostly she seems more comfortable TAKING her shots in the offense.

She showed her range agaInst Western Michigan, what makes her doubly dangerous is her ability to drive and make the mid-range jumper. This young lady will continue to improve her scoring as the season progresses.
