Anyone want to put a guess how many of those guys play on Senior night at their respective schools? I'll bet most will be like PSU's N/A and not be there.

Enrolling early moved him into the class of 2020

If you don't enroll until January 2021, are you still reclassified to 2020? Not sure how that works. Guess he became a late arrival for 2020 instead of an early arrival for 2021?

Edit: I notice that Jones was moved from the 2021 to 2020 class in the Rivals database, but the last mid-year enrollee we had (Kadeem Jack) enrolled early in the 2010-11 season (Dec 2010) and redshirted, but is still shown in the 2011 class.

I think because he actually played it counted as him being a part of the 2020 class, but he still is considered a freshman due to this year not counting towards eligibility. Oskar was also an early enrollee if I’m not mistaken but he’s still listed as part of the 2020 class, so I assume it’s the fact Jaden actually registered minutes before got moved to the 2020 class.

Not sure how accurate that list is considering that Luke Goode is the third best Illinois recruit out of three.

Honestly, why do we care? He's here with four more years of eligibility . That's what's important.

May be more than it seems like it will be now. Let’s see what happens with nil. What will be the restrictions? What will be the actual demand for college player likeness? A lot of unknowns but one would have to figure that likeness popularity will be strongly correlated with team stability. Hard enough to build a monetizable personal brand as a college player but downright impossible if you play on a different team each year.

Oskar is now listed as part of the 2019 class. There was an article on Jan 6th about Jones' being shifted to the 247 Class of 2020 because he enrolled early, a month before he ever played a game - so I don't think him playing had anything to do with it.

Possible that it's just being handled differently than it was 10 years ago, or at least more consistently?

99% that Caleb Houston (Michigan) and Max Christie (MSU) will NOT play on Senior Night.

They already being projected as early 1st round picks in the 2022 NBA Draft.

Yes, because the kid's class is the year of his HS graduation. So if a 2021 kid graduates at the end of the semester in Dec. 2020 and enrolls in college he is moved into the 2020 class.

The Kadeem Jack situation was before my time with Rivals, so I cannot speak to why that was handled the way that it was.

Got it, thanks.

I thought recruiting classes were sorted by the year a player started their scholarship, rather than their HS graduation class. Maybe there are different rules for Juco or prep school players, since their listed class is the year they start at a 4-year college rather than their HS graduation year (or maybe it's just the year you finish at your last stop, whether that's HS, Juco, or prep school?).

With regard to Jack, I'm guessing it's either a new guideline since 2010, or it's an old guideline that's now being more consistently applied.
