Great. Run until they stop you. Sadly we aren’t very efficient passing. Good calls, bad passes. But, a couple nice balls for sure… but 3 good ones in game does not a QB make…
Not quite right. Run until they try too hard to stop you.. and when QB sees that coming, audible to play action pass to TE up the seam route

The reason we haven’t seen that is because Vedral can’t throw it. Not tall enough. Is why he’s got to roll out to see. And also why the deep outs are so off. He’s throwing blind, not sure where the WR is.

Here is the thing- It was the smart play, and if we had Brown available- they never would have gotten the ball back or we would have been up another score.
But even without him- Our Defense was at an elite level today. And Indiana was pretty much out of TO's- even if they recovered the onside kick-and TD was less than us throwing a int and or putting time o the clock
Yeah, good arguments either way.

It’s not a height thing it’s either an arm strength thing or a philosophy of not throwing over the middle.
Not being tall enough Doesn’t seem to hurt Bryce young. Kid is maybe 5’10.

If Simon doesnt take two dumb sacks against Nebraska we win.

We could run the ball today because IU came out in man free and we hit two vertical routes and they had to back off with a safety. This opened up JL on the flats which forced a LB to focus on him.

That is why we could run the ball today.
We hit those routes early on Nebraska also.

There is play design and choices that helped today as well. It is more than just hitting a couple passes... but the threat of an actual passing game is very important.

Really dude- think about it.?many guys in college football well under 7ft and great QB’’s

and 10 ft behind the OL, is 6’3 vs 6’ft really that huge of a sight line

Anyone who thinks this is the same play calling needs only look at one thing: how often did Vedral run it up the middle. The answer? None.

And surprise, Vedral isn't injured this time!

I’m telling you why. Again, is why almost all rollouts. He’s not even fast or elusive. It’s only so he can see.

I just wish he didn't run backwards so far. It adds to the length of the pass and adds to how far he has to run to get positive yards.(if he ever tucked and ran)
We do some very different crazy stuff vs. other teams I've watched for 50 years.

What was also different today was the number plays designed for Aron C. For the first game as OC there was enough different plays and kept simple enough to avoid big mistakes and no T/Os. Nunz showed confidence and enthusiasm on the sidelines while Gleeson had deer in the headlights. No doubt in my mind, if Gleeson was still here, WE LOSE

Right. He’s not fast enough to turn the corner, and they also don’t want him to get hurt. Those roll outs are all he’s capable of and the completions are just for a few yards.

Not surprised. Not much time but simplified things and added consistency. I'm sure Greg played into the latter conservatism.

Happy to see less gimmicks and more standard offense. No turnovers!

Ok. What I was hoping for. We'll see where we go from here.

For anyone not thinking Greg gets involved in offense.. he stated he wanted AC to get the ball more. I think he did, right lol.
Couch name Ends in a vowel so toxic to Rutgers

Got news for ya... you don't have to be tall to be qb anymore. Russell Wilson, kyler Murray, Tua, brees, Jalen hurts are all showing that you don't have to be 6'3 and taller to throw passes. He can't throw them because his arm sucks or his decision making sucks, not his height. Balls are thrown high and behind receivers on the regular.

Feeding Brown Is play calling. In the past Brown would have had 13 Carrie’s and the Carrie’s he didn’t get would have been distributed to JL on the JL package Simon throws and a few other plays that would have netted zero The extra runs by brown kept the chains moving, the IU defense on the field longer ( which wore them down) and allowed our D to stay fresh
Greg addressed Brown's load early in his post-game press conference. He said it could be a mistake to increase the workload too soon.
