Thoughts on Galax/Giles?

What kind of predictions do you guys have for this one? Is this the big game Galax finally gets to go in their favor?

It will be interesting on how Galax plays after these tuff games. Giles is a tuff place to get a win. That's a great fan base

Galax has given Giles all they wanted the last two years but Giles still found away to win. If Galax shows up and plays like they're capable playing it could be another interesting game. With that being said it is no easy task to beat Giles and Galax will have to play a hell of game to get it done.

My heart says Galax based on their close losses this year and their great coach; my head definitely says Giles by 7. Galax can't win unless they can get 3rd and shorts consistently and control the ball.

Galax is very well coached and having a extra week to get ready is huge for them just because Dixon is such a great coach. The extra week also helped Graham last week and showed in the first half. Giles had to go in and make adjustments at half to counter new things Graham was doing. Few things concern about this game. Hopefully Giles does not look past this week into the next week with Glenver and the filed conditions should be awful with all the rain this week. Galax matches up well against Giles and that's the reason they always play them so well. Should be a great game like always.

I'm just curious. How are the Galax boys holding up. They have a brutal start to the season. Any injury? I'm sure they are significantly banged up, but that extra week will help with that. I think a lot of 1A teams have done a great job scheduling this season to make sure they are tested well before playoffs.

I think Giles wins by 14 or 21 points.

What kind of shape will the field be in at Giles with all this rain. Does the field drain pretty good or does it tend to pond up in places?

It drains well but no grass field can hold the water we have got today and they are calling for five more inches by Saturday. I'll be surprised if the game is even played Friday.

Thanks for the info, I'm with you if we get the rain they are forecasting on top of what we already have gotten I think they will be hard pressed to get the game in Friday.

Don't think a rain soaked field gives either and advantage or takes away a strength. Might help Galax stay in a low scoring game to the 4th quarter then anything can happen.

Maybe I'm wrong but teams with speed and/or lots of ball handling would be hurt more by bad field conditions at the HS level.
