Also rutgers fans
"I'll pass on Bolds"

I don't get it. We desperately need to add size and talent to our DL. In the article on NJ.com he sounds like he desperately wants to come home. Even said he regretted going to psu. Sounded like he only went to psu to make his mom happy. Now he wants to come back rep NJ at rutgers. His name still holds weight in nj high school football along with singleton's and some of you are saying no??? Ash needs all the help he can get recruiting and these two would help and they will help us win games. Count me as a yes x10.

Sorry to say - but Bolds is not a good prospect. He'll never make it in P5 or at a G5 program.

People say he was lazy and didn't want to work hard? That was a sign of his ability. Very slow off the snap. No twitch. He appeared lazy.
Lmao so you have concluded that he will never make it at the P5 or G5 level because "people" say a 17 year old HS kid was lazy. No chance he has matured and is more focused? You also say being lazy is a sign of his ability which makes absolutely no sense.

Does he add talent? Of course he does. Not taking a flyer on this kid would be irresponsible of ash and his staff. If he was a high school senior everyone on this board would be sitting on the edge of their seats waiting for ash to offer. But now because he had to go to juco because he realized he made the wrong college choice no one wants him. He literally saved the texts between him and his mom saying he should have went to rutgers. Obviously he was "lazy" at psu because he didnt want to be there.

We have 12 Dlinemen returning from the 2018 roster.....

Julius Turner
Jaohne Duggan
Manny Taylor
Brendan Bordner
Will Previllon
Matt Thomas

Elorm Lumor
TiJuan Mason
Mike Tverdov
Jamree Kromah
CJ Onyechi (?)
Robin Jutwreten

We don't have a ton of space. Three more would be the max.

We have Burby verballed... and we may have space for 2 more players... and we cannot panic and reach for the very first kid that has interest. We are looking at a few with some talent.

Hozey Haji-Badri from ASA looks terrific... but ASA doesn't have very strong academics- could hurt

Tank Booker from Ohio

The Darkwa kid from Germany

We just offered Darius Tisdale - DT/DE from Lackawanna JC - 6'5 295 - somewhat a Previllon clone with maybe a little more speed.

These are others that are superior to Corey Bolds
Other than Tverdov, Lumor, Previllon and Turner, the rest are just bodies at this point. I think it is clear Taylor will never see the field at this position. Bordner seemed overmatched, but that could be youth. Mason flashed, but got injured. Rest we have not even heard boo about in terms of possibly giving hope. This will be a very weak unit on D for Rutgers in 2019.

Sounds like he might be saying all the right things just to get an offer.

But what do we have to lose? We’re desperate. Give this man a scholarship!

There are 3 or 4 other D Linemen better than Bolds. That played more, that the ASA coach says better things about.

The RU staff apparently has higher valued targets on their board, and are confident they will get 1 or 2 of them. I doubt they even want Bolds as a walk on. Bolds has been unhappy wherever he has been, and unproductive wherever he has been.
Now there are other D Linemen on the ASA team they would probably want, but like other JUCO transcripts, some credits/classes are not accepted for a transfer by RU.

I don't think he does. People were mixed on him even when he was in high school.

Look at the highlights that TH posted on his first article about Bolds.

We lose a future ship for a better prospect. When you are desperate, you don't waist ships. RU is not landing so many high level recruits that they can afford to take a flier for social reasons(he's local) on a kid that is unlickley to ever contribute.
