I’ll admit I’m a bit skeptical about Chinander, but overall, the past two years have been rough because of personnel and ‘transition.’... at least that can still be the excuse for now.

But it’s time to show results after having time to work on the roster. Could they use more time to develop the roster? Absolutely.
Will fans be patient? Will recruits see the vision if they continue to play poorly? Doubt it.

As for hiring a close friend, team always comes first, as was mentioned. The expectation is you can hire the friend as long a there’s a clear understanding the results and the job must be separate from any personal relationship. I’ll trust Frost and Moos understanding that.

I can't speak about player development and emotional things like players "buying in". But my problem with Chinander is his inability to adjust in game. I was told early in the 2017 season by a couple of guys I trust to "start watching UCF game as that coaching staff will likely be here next year". And that's what I saw from the first game I watched. No adjustments. That may be fine when you are playing lower level AAC teams and you are ahead 42-17 at the half. But there is a reason that following the first 3 games SF said in the post-game interviews that the opposing teams came out in offensive schemes that NU wasn't expecting. The coaches of those teams knew that Chinander is extremely poor at making adjustments, and so knew that forcing him to make an adjustment following the first snap would put NU behind the 8-ball from the beginning.
