What a 17 loser, who goes with the Low Sodium version? He'll need at least a 1-1/2 cups of salt to get any flavor on that steak.

Is that a thing, combining dales and Italian? I use both separately, never thought about combining them.

LOL. He’s about to ruin those ribeyes. All they need is a generous application of sea salt and cracked black pepper. They look pretty thin, so about 3-4 minutes on each side over some really hot coals oughta be about right. I know I’ll get blasted for this, but I’m really seriously asking what the deal is about this site and Dales salty sauce???? I really am being serious. Thanks in advance for any factual responses to my question about the Dales. I never have understood that. I’m guessing it’s the worst-kept inside joke ever.

You should convince him to mix both bottles, reduce them down to a syrup, then smoke it in a pipe like freebase.**

with this Nancy, the Zima is definitely not out of the question. the only thing to really ask is what flavor jolly rancher did he insert.

The dale's secret is typically shared at the SPS tailgate. Christmas tree, blue tent, Dorman.

Folks here don't like putting Dale's on a steak, and think it's stupid to ruin a good cut of meat. There's really nothing more to it than that.

Using Dales is like masturbating, it's a guilty pleasure we have all done in private, just don't get caught in public or ever admit to it.

Somebody made me hamburgers with dales and I ended up eating them plain I liked them so much. No buns or condiments or anything other than a slice of provolone cheese on top. Not sure if he marinated in dales or just added a splash as he was making out the patties, but hiding behind an anonymous(ish) message board, I will admit I liked the result.

Funny, but I've eaten burgers with Dale's and Italian dressing mixed in and some diced onions and they are juicy goodness. Good with deer burgers too, but they need wrapped in bacon.

Truth is there's nothing wrong with Dale's. It became a thing because it was so popular at the Birmingham restaurant in the 50s and 60s that the owners realized they could market it as a marinade.

What makes it suck most of the time is that people use way too much of it. Like other salty marinades, a little goes a long, long way.

Back to your regularly scheduled tailgating lessons.

I’ve ate enough deer meat marinated in Dales to fill up a pickup bed. I’ve also ate quiet a few steaks from the Dale’s Steakhouse in Florence Al and they were fine.

Totally agree. Buy the best cuts you can find and hit em with salt and pepper. Warm them up in an oven or grill at 250-275 degrees for 30-45 minutes (depending on thickness), until you get an internal temp of 95-100 degrees. Take them out and give them 30 seconds to one minute on each side over the hottest grill or cast iron skillet you can manage to produce to render the fats. Some folks will brush them with a little butter or olive oil at this point to crisp them up a little on the outside.

Take em off and let them sit for a few minutes before serving. There you go.

Dale's is soy sauce with added MSG and a little sugar and a few other things like paprika onion and ginger. The soy and MSG are a double hit of umami, and so is the grilled beef itself, so that was probably a really savory burger. If you aren't sensitive to the MSG, then yes, they should be really delicious.

Spicy Montreal Steak seasoning for me, thank you very much. And yes, either sous vide with a pan-sear finish, or pan-seared and finished in the oven.

But when do you microwave them?

If you can't afford to properly season a steak, I get it. But for the love of God, save some money and buy some A1. #learn2grill
