This kid from Parkland is blasting a teacher who he claims "wouldn't let him in" from the hallway in to his classroom when the shooting began. It is my understanding that protocol is for once an event like this takes place, and "lockdown" is instituted, teachers are to close and lock the doors, barricade the door, and NOT OPEN THE DOOR for anyone until the "all clear" has been given.

Is that correct?

Since 82 is too stupid to give a legitimate answer, I will answer (I'm a teacher who has been through many drills and one legit lockdown)......

Yes, that is correct. At least for my school, the door is not supposed to be open at all once lockdown is initiated.

Then why is this story getting press time? The teacher is being ruined in the court of public opinion. He followed protocol to the measure, and now is being made a villain for doing so? What if he breaks protocol, opens the door, lets the kids in, and one of them "blended in" and was the shooter? Then the story is "Teacher Opens Door for Slaughter"......

I agree. And I don't know the answer.
