"According to Gallup, 46 percent of Americans still disapprove of the 2017 tax cuts. Unsurprisingly, Republicans favor it more than Democrats. President Trump and the Republican Party said the overhaul would especially benefit the middle class, but a majority of Americans say it hasn’t helped at all. The cuts didn’t affect 2017 taxes filed in April, though employees were supposed to have seen increases in their paychecks as of February 2018. But almost two-thirds of Americans have seen no difference."

Thy have done a HORRENDOUS job selling it, and quite frankly the cuts are geared towards the big bad Evil Corps that everyone hates. I bet that approval number drops once filing season starts.

Heard a talking head the other essentially say just that. They mishandled the marketing of the tax cuts. They failed at educating people what the tax cuts actually were comprised of.

I worry MANY people will be expecting larger refunds with the filing of their tax returns....and that will most likely NOT be the case.

Worry?
Could it more appropriately be:
“I am delighted that many people...”

Marketing a tax cut? How about just telling the public the truth? They marketed the legislation to death in order to pass it. Problem is with the legislation. It isn't what they said it was but rather it is what Trump told his buddies at Mar-a-lango or whatever that resort is, a few days after passing.

American public is only so dumb if they have an open mind. They are starting to realize the truth on at least this one thing of this god awful presidency and GOP led congress.

That's part of the problem with the marketing of the cuts. I personally noticed an immediate impact on my withholdings, but know the real test comes in a few months when I file, but most people don't understand what they did or did not get in the cuts. They just hear what the talking heads say on TV and believe it.

Trump said in yesterday's presser that he'd be willing to work with a Democratic house on a middle tax class cut and is open to making corporate tax adjustments to help pay for it. De facto admitting the previous cut was trickle down....although billed as middle class to get popular sport.
