Folks who were not around during the heyday of the Rivals college bball message boards, which i would say is from around 2003 to 2014 (give or take a few years), don't really appreciate how bad Indiana fans are, at least on message boards, because they have been relatively silent for several years for obvious reasons. Louisville, Kansas, Duke, and UNC fans don't even hold a candle, and you can add UK fans to that list. I've always said that you can't characterize different fanbases because they are all basically the same and are made up of the same cross-section of people for the most part. But for whatever reason, Indiana message board fans were exponentially more vile than any other fanbase. The only one that even came close were Connecticut fans.

You have to wonder if IU had any recruits visiting there last night and wonder what the recruits thoughts on that were. Hopefully Brooks and his family knew about that.

That's pretty funny, Crean. "That didn't happen in the past..." Who are you kidding? That's why no one should go to play at Assembly Hall. The crowd is out of control.

Agreed. I tried to explain it to my wife last night when you could hearing them yelling on TV. The only word I could think of was psychotic. They have droves of conspiracy theories about UK. Many, many things I had never even heard of as a lifelong UK fan, and the first argument point out of any IU fan VS UK always has to do with racism. That’s their lead in and the their fall back. Most of them are absolutely convinced that we have always and we continue to cheat and pay off officials and players. Whoever I ask them about the players that we do not get, and that if we were offering them money, why don’t they squeal when they get to their chosen school, they can only shrug and say that we continue to pay them to silence them...THEY ARE PSYCHO.

Horrific things were said to UK players and family members last time UK played in Assembly. Nobody wanted to believe it.
It’s no small wonder Cal said adios to Indiana and has never looked back. Coincidentally, their program has taken a sharp nosedive. Hmmm.

I hope UCONN rots in the college cellar for eternity with 3 titles.

One was arguing with ne the it's a fact that every one and done attends no classes. The reason IU sucks is because Crean left them a horrible APR.

At the time Creepy Crean also said he was fine with a vulgar student section. Didn't work out so well for him.

Not even half as vulgar as Maryland fans. They were chanting that they screwed redicks sister

I think the worst, most classless chants I’ve heard were from Arizona St fans in 1988. Steve Kerr’s father was assassinated in Beirut in 1984 & the ASU fans taunted Kerr & chanted things like “P-L-O”, “you’re father’s history” & “go back to Beirut & join the marines.” Kerr had to come out of the game & sit down to regain his composure. It doesn’t get much more despicable than that, IMO.

The most classless program in all of college basketball, has been for decades. I hate Indiana so bad and I love that they are so terrible.

Actually the worst is The Filth. Followed by U6 and Puke. Then IU. If you go by sense if smell alone, tough to tell the diff.

Never heard about that but that’s about as stupidly low as you can go.

Yeah, I get why Cal doesn't want to go back there after how I heard they treated our fans in 2012. I mean he agreed to play them in Indy that should be good enough. No one wants to go to that ******** barn filled with Hoosiers. Dam. all that embarrassment and they still lose. Brooks, it's ok you don't have to try to save those turds. Come on down.

However, I was there in ATL in that same season and a lot of us KY fans were at the bar by the walk leading to the arena and when they showed up in their candy-striped pants we gave them hell. Lots of drinking. They showed up altogether to walk in and looked scared to death when we all started yelling at them. Good times.

Stop and think where we were in 2009. If not for Cal we would be no better than Indiana, a struggling has been. Going through coach after coach trying to revive the glory days.
