Can't be too serious or the coaches would have passed on him.

There are photos online of his swollen and significantly bruised thumb. I think it was a severe sprain. I don't see him getting surgery for that. He just needed time to rehab. I don't see anything on the UT forums suggesting he had major ligament damage or anything that would prevent him from playing.

Seriously I don't think it was a big deal with time off and rehab. I ask my UT Grad Nephew who follows them closely and his Father in Law also. He has had UT tickets for like 40 years. Both thought the same.
