I love where I live and I’m not too terribly worried about this kind of crap … BUT I started talking to my kids about social, cultural, identity politics probably starting in kindergarten or pre-school.

I also didnt baby them and use “soft” language nor shy away from any topic. If they didn’t understand something, I would break it down further and further until it made sense to them.

Too many parents think that they have time to discuss topics with their young kids and simply say “ehhhhh I’ll tell you when you’re older”…. SCREW THAT! That is how the left has been able to corrupt two full generations (Millennial and GENZ) with their crap.

Now one thing I do tell both my kids is that where we may disagree with someone OR we may not agree with their lifestyle, people are still people and we should always be kind and respect their humanity.

With Oklahoma attempting to force the Bible to be taught in public schools, this does seems prophetic.

One day, when you're brave enough, I expect a post on how you were molested/abused by a church member. There's no other explanation for your warpath. Denial isn't an option anymore.

As an aside, I hope the POS that abused you is rotting in hell and getting butt fvcked every minute by a pineapple covered in sulfuric acid.

All political BS aside, I'm truly sorry about whatever happened to you.

you are all for drag shows in school and teaching kids in first grade this crap. If the people in OK vote to teach the Bible in school so be it. If cali wants to teach drag then so be it. Dont like the state you live in then move to a place that is closer to your core values...

There is just a little thing in America called the US Constitution. Teaching religion in public schools is illegal in America.

Such a stupid human. And this person is responsible for educating kids. Again, public education, by any measure, is a complete failure. No wonder we are so broken.
Is it safe to assume that that would never happen in a private school???

It's very possible that it would. And then shortly thereafter that person could be fired. There's no place in our society that is insulated from people like that on either the left or the right. But it has no place in schools and public schools fail in nearly every metric you can come up with.

Could be fired but not necessarily fired. There are those in public schools that do get fired for their actions. FWIW, did you go to a private school before college??

It's just another book, right? Nothing special about the Bible, right?
I actually wouldn’t agree with that. It’s obviously an important book due to its influence and historical significance.

I am in favor of teaching the Bible as a historical document of sorts, as I think it provides insight into how human history and culture have developed, especially in the west.

But states like Oklahoma want to teach it as fact, but studies of the Bible belong in the same classes as studies of Greek mythology.

I attended public school. My children attend private school. I coach football at a private school also.

Somehow you appear to have risen above the adversity of a public school. And, FWIW, attending a private school doesn't automatically assure you of a better education.

Because the Bible is also mythology.

Personally, I think a class on historical religions/religious texts would be really fascinating and beneficial as maybe a jr/sr level high school course.

Could go all the way from ancient Egyptians straight up to modern Scientology and study how religious beliefs have influenced society and how they impact where we are now.

I mean putting Christianity aside, a student could have a much stronger understanding of the Israel/Palestine conflict if they studied the Torah and the Quran. People generally have a better understanding of the world around them when they understand the ideas that shaped it.

This is actually quite accurate. Look up Hermann Goering's statement (Hitler's Luftwaffe Chief) to the effect that "The public is so easily led - just create an enemy and tell them they are being threatened.) Many of Trump's tactics are Hitlerian.
"The public is so easily led - just create an enemy and tell them they are being threatened"? Look at this moron. That's been the dems playbook for the last 8 years.

You're fundamentally misunderstanding what I'm saying. I'm not saying the private school is the greatest. I'm saying that our public schools are a failure. That's because they are not successful. It doesn't mean that people don't get good educations there. It doesn't mean that kids with a lot of advantages don't thrive and then move on to be successful in life. In general, when you like it all aspects of what it means to educate a child they are a failure. There's so many statistics that will demonstrate this if you look into it.

Once again you paint with a broad brush with zero actual facts or understanding of public education.

You are completely wrong, but you know everything, or at least you feel like you do, so I will leave it there.
Once you grow older, you'll eventually see how that path is not a good one.
