An article about the differences between the two teams would be easier to write. I don't see many similarities at all.

IMO you cannot help but at least think of the possible comparison between Tyus Jones and Trey Duval. True, it may not happen, but again the possibilities are exciting. I think Trey may be similar in that he will not back down from crunch time situations in waning minutes of games.... OFC

"We have high hopes for Trevon Duval, but Tyus Jones set a bar that’s going to hard for many seniors to match, much less freshmen."

I agree with this line from the article.

I'm excited for the upcoming season....we have a ton of talent, but I don't see a Tyus Jones. Now, that doesn't mean we can't be great, because we can.

The major similarity between the two teams is they are both coming off of disappointment the year before. Tyus told Coach K that wouldn't happen his season and I hope the whole damn team is telling Coach K that too for this season

Quinn Cook is often a forgotten guy on that team (hell, the article mentioned Matt and Amile but not Quinn!) This is criminal.
I hope Grayson can be for this team what Quinn was for 2015 - a leader who took on the role he needed to take for the team to be the most successful. I was most happy for him winning it all.

I agree Phys, it all began in Cook's Kitchen! I DO like the way the article laid out Winslow's role on that team...

Well, we do have a trio of possible OAD's, Grayson and Coach K are remnants of 2015, so we have that. The comparison isn't there right now, but if this group is as good as we expect (and we do expect very good things), then later on in the season it may not seem so crazy. The talent is there, the results we'll have to wait and see about.
Go Duke!

This season we could really use Justise's versatility on the defensive end. He was a true swiss army knife on that team. Quickness to defend guards with the strength and length to guard bigs.

The thing about the 2015 team, as with the 2010 team, is that every player found his role by the end of the season. The Duke teams that fail in March don't have that. If someone steps up to be the Winslow "stopper" at the defensive end, I like our chances.

So what's the latest on Bagley? I seen something saying he has enrolled at Duke, but I have never heard whether he was cleared by the NCAA? Anyone heard where that process stands right now?

Because of the lack of guard depth and wealth of depth in the interior, this team is probably closer to 2010 than 2015. Consistency will be a struggle and can Tre be a point guard and a leader? I love the possibilities this team presents, but will they achieve their lofty potential? The money is against them because winning everything with young teams is rare, but these guys, if any this season, can do it.

Keep in mind when we look for "a Tyus Jones," we're not really talking about a specific tangible, but about how clutch he was, how he stepped up in the biggest moments. That's not really the type of thing you can know ahead of time. You can't duplicate it in practice. There may be a "type," but the game itself is the proving ground. And as that's the case, it isn't limited to a position. Maybe it'll be Carter.

Good point....Cant know in preseason....Those things just evolve over a season... OFC
